I get my new guitar Thursday :D
I'm actually hoping I have money to do it... I haven't been paid yet, and I don't know how much I'm getting ^_^U

I got told a cool story the other week. I'm first generation, so my grandparents have masses of stories of merry old England, like my nana, who's literally a baby boomer (they were technically the kids born from the aftermath of ww2, like celebratory f**ks... Lol), and my grandad who was from Penzance (no pirates, as far as I know :p ). But I told my grandad about a lot of the gigs I go to, and he laughed, and told me about when he was about my age, and he went to this club called "The Cavern" to see a Liverpool band called "The Beatles".
My grandad. The coolest 71 year old in the world.

The point of me telling you this was: does anyone else have cool family stories? Not like "My grandma had this thing removed and it was sooo big" but actually... Cool.

*side note: my grandparents also went to see a hip hop concert a few years ago. They only went to see the ASO, but ended up staying for the entire thing. They now own every album the band/group/whatever-you-call-them have released. I told you, they're awesome.

Ah, Biscaynes. I hope you`re going well, mate. What I heard yesterday, made me very sad. A link to the tragedy report - 35 dead in suicide bomb attack on Moscow airport.

Please, do a 1 minute quiet to these whose have been killed.

*This post has been edited. Please refrain from a) making racist remarks. b) making assumptions not yet confirmed by... anyone. c) posting violent imagery on the site. We do have young members, and that's not what we'd like to be known for.

It's not "1 minute quiet", it's "moment of silence"

I don't hate you? There's just things you can say, and things you can't.

 I'd rather go to the UFO club (Underground Freak Out) to see Syd Barret's Pink Floyd and Soft Machine. The Beatles are overrated, enough said.

I don't like them either, but back in the 60's, they were the in-thing.
I remember seeing an interview with them, where they were talking about Ringo Starr being called the best drummer in the world, and they laughed and Paul McCartney (I think...) said "Best drummer in the world? He's not even the best drummer in The Beatles!".

I would have preferred to see Queen. One of the best moments of my life was seeing Brian May perform live. Outstanding :)

Freddie Mercury FTW! I still have a CD audio disk of Queens` greatest hits. I personally like them along with Pink Floyd

Personally, I find both the Beatles and Queen to be overrated. I just never really cared for them, but I like Queen.

Queen is my favourite band ever :)
The music they played is the stuff I can listen to no matter how I feel.
But my ex is getting me into other stuff... More metal.

My favorite? I don't really have one. Preferences change quite a bit.

my favourite bands (like, the all time ones) have been the same all my life. Queen, Nirvana, Green Day, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Cure are constants. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones and ABBA are dependant on my mood. And then there are "recent" favourites, like the Foo Fighters (who I've been a fan of since... They started? Lol), Linkin Park (who are my favourite touring band), Joan Jett, QOTSA...
And there are artists too (Michael Jackson is probably the only one I've always loved though.... Madonna's early stuff was awesome :D ), but I'm a 90's kid, so I have more exposure to bands :)
And by 90's kid, I mean I lived through *all* of the 90's, not just a year or two, so I was brought up around grunge music and fashion... And lace. Lots of lace.
Which kind of explains away my rather... Odd fashion sense.
And why people keep calling me "emo kid"...
But I don't want to be some modern punk sl*t. I like 70's and 80's punk more :)
