I decided to make a poll of the thread nicely named as 'favourite gta'. So, make your choice! My vote goes to the latest in the series, Vice City Stories.

I hate it when things don't go the way you planned them!

GTA1: Very boring, couldn't play it for more than 30mins. I just couldn't stand 2d games.
GTA2: Same as GTA1
GTAL: Same as GTA1 and GTA2
GTAIII: It was fairly good, but didn't excite me all that much. It was nice to see it go 3d.
GTAVC:It got my vote... Nice and bright like dpl's *78. It's unrealism was the funniest/funnest in the series.
GTASA: Got fairly boring after 150hours, I dunno why but it board me to death.
GTALCS: Very boring too! I couldn't even be bothered finishing the game.
GTAVCS: After LCS and SA I just couldn't be bothered anymore. It's all the same nothing new!

The first time I played San Andreas was on the Xbox version and it bored me too. But I only rented it though. I got a bit bored of III. I don't really like NY that much anyway, no offence madness! Miami kicks a**!

I voted for GTA III. Liberty City is my favourite things and in GTA LCS they are a lots of better things as in GTA III but the game is too short and GTA III has got better mission so, yeh i voted for GTA III.

may i ask when you played these games? straight after release? then, how old were you back then? 8? hmm for a 8 years old kid you wanted too mutch from games at that time i think. What games you liked then? TNFS or NFS2? They were arcade and limited, not like gta. It smelled with freedom. Lot of cars, COPS, it was hilarious. I can understand you only If you played gta1 after driver2 or atleast driver1.
Btw Gta2 is completely different than gta1 and it is crap. Dark, bad looking old cars with those strange weapons.. its not same as gta1. it couldnt be same just only because of 2d view.
My choose is GTA1 since it was like whole new idea, something more than just driving as if you were a train and had rails which you had to follow.

Other gtas havent done anything really impressive in their progress. maybe gta 4 will do. but i doubt that.
Only gta 3 when it came in 3d, with that nice physics and damages was impressive too. Its just driver2 did that already. Yea and i like VC for its brightness and story.

Well... I prefer GTA III because it has a better plot and a more charismatic protagonist than that two idiots called Thomas "Tommy" Vercetti and Carl "CJ" Johnson.

I don't remember whether i like Vice city or GTAIII more, which ever one had more violence when you turned the riot cheats on was the one i liked, one was crap, for that and one was brilliantly scarily dangerous, i liked the fact that if you hadn't moved from where you start before you have faded in you'd get killed by a bomb. It was awesome.

San Andreas as its slightly more realistic than Vice City's terrible sliding physics and cartoony people though i rather prefer something from the Driver series...

By the way GTA IV's coming out on the 29th April 2008, according to wikipedia

San Andreas - my personal fave:good graphics,nice story,the character you play is black(for once) and most of ALL - all the 3 cities are also in Driver.

Even though I haven't played anything past GTA2, San Andreas is my favroite. The Brown Streak (which is actually grey lol), the ability to download awesome mods, the idiot traffic AI (go block a highway near an intersection), the car modding and the ability to make CJ fat or like the Hulk lol.

I grew up playing GTA1 so I just had to vote for it(I know it's old). It's also the only one that I am allowed to play(Besides GTA2).
