hello everyone i'm new here. a person named drivermadness has been helping through yahoo answers, like where is the police headquaters and how to get the safe help. this person has been a great help. anyways theres one i wanna know why wouldwould they come out with driver 5 if they haven't came out driver 4 yet. doesn't make sense to me. just say hey and hoping to get more help with driver parallel lines and driver3.

Hello techmanzman, I'll try and answer your question. As you know, there have been 4 major Driver games released. So therefore, most people call call the next Driver game "Driver 5"

The problem that's causing all the confusion is Driver Parallel Lines. it's technically not the real Driver 4 since it doesn't include Tanner but most people call it Driver 4 anyways.

I think the real answer is this, the series goes Driver, Driver 2, Driv3r, and the mobile game Driver Vegas. The second subsection holds Driver 76 and Driver Parallel Lines while the third section just holds the alternate storyline mobile game Driver LA Undercover. If you watch the Gareth Edmonson 1UP interview in the download section you'll see that the journalist (John Davidson) says "this is not Driver 4" and G.E. nods.

If the next game is about Tanner then that's the real Driver 4, if it stars TK or a completely new charater than it'll probally have another unique subtitle. Then again, Reflections and Ubisoft could call the next game Driver 5 but then they'll be messing up the timeline. So uhhh, yeah, I'm not sure if what I wrote makes sence to you but atleast it makes sense to me.

Currently at the moment we have a forum section called Driver: 5 mainly because there is no real name for the next game and I don't want to get people confused with Driver: Parallel Lines as Driver: Parallel Lines to some is Driver: 4 and even Driver: 5 to some is drIVer or Driver: 4.

At the moment it's really confusing until Reflections Interactive and/or Ubisoft publicly release the name of the next driver title and the day that happens the day the forums name will change.

So in the end I have just called it "Driver: 5" so people don't get it confused with Driver: Parallel Lines. Because in some places they still call DPL Driver 4.

If the series returns with Tanner we all think reflections will call the next game drIVer. IV being 4 in roman numerals.

Basically what Moonchild is saying is correct, infact there is no real wrong answer in this because we don't know anything about the next game yet. Only that it exists and is coming to next generation consoles.

I too think it's a really confusing subject to talk about and sometime in the future the next driver game will have a name so then we wont have to worry about it.

If the next game has Tanner, I hope it's just called Driver 4 and not "DrIVer" since that looks a little stupid.

Hell, even today I don't like the name "Driv3r" D3 should just have been called Driver 3 with a subtitle that included "something wheelman" like the first two games. (You Are The Wheelman/The Wheelman Is Back) I know that early in development the game was called Driver 3 but then they decided to change it for some reason.

that's a great idea! Except I'll most likely make it Driver: Working Title.
Because Driver: 5 still enters that level or confusion.

Only cause its the 5th Driver it doesnt mean that its Driver 5, for me its Driver 4 and I HOPE itll be Driver 4 cause currently im workin on a Driver 4-site and if the game will be called D5 ill have to remade most of the things.
