Nice :) diffuse color i guess ?
It was way harder than I originally anticipated. The amount of effort I had to put in just to do this in 3DS Max would definitely not translate very well to anything else. I think there's another way to do it, I just haven't figured it out :P

I don't get it, you "ripped" or recreated the 3D model of the Zartex in Stuntman or what?

He ripped it from PCSX2 running in the background. FOV is off and rotated slightly, but I think you can fix that without having to re-rip.

Why did he rip it from Stuntman? The exact same car is found in Driver 3 and Driver: Parallel Lines, you guys do know that right?

I mean they do have a few differences, like wheels or tail lights. Wheels are just textures, the tail lights on the DPL and Stuntman ones are the same I think. The ones on the Driver 3 are a bit longer (horizontally) IIRC. The police lights are different, that's about the only difference there is in the model itself. But I must admit, the Stuntman one has the best lights on the roof (same type of lights like the Monacop in DSF has! Love them).

I just wasted the past who knows how many hours trying to get DSF to load a different car using Cheat Engine. The most I was able to do was get the Fiat Abarth 695 to display "DESANNE 3.0T" but after that it was just a never-ending wild goose chase. I accomplished absolutely nothing. DAMN YOU COMPRESSED LUA!!!! I probably could've just edited a LUA file but noooo, it's compressed! Sumbitch!

Huh? The Stuntman model is far different, plus you can find the Stuntman textures in my thread.

Don't judge it all from a single test

I tried that too a few days ago, after you suggested it. Do you know the Dodge 2009 Desanne 3.0? Or the Shelby 1966 Town Car?

I seriously thought I had changed something because a Town Car spawned instead of a Challenger at some point, but probably I had selected it before. Cheat Engine confuses me so much, I never know where I am or what I'm doing. Then I noticed all I was changing was the text on that window

So I gave up because it's just frustrating. I was thinking of posting my issue on the Cheat Engine forum but it seems like they're all against cheating in online games, so I think I won't even bother to register. It's a shame because it's not even to really cheat, just to obtain different cars. There's only the Crown Vic and the Charger in Takedown, seriously they could have included the Escalade too. I suppose they didn't because it's so drifty, and all kids would rage quit because they simply don't want to understand that you can't take a 90° corner with full speed, without braking

Personally, I would love to have a Volkswagen 1977 Trans Am.

This. The interior is waaaay different as well.
So, about that 2009 Dodge Desanne 3.0T....

Oh about the interior I don't know. I remember using the cockpit view, it was very boxy and everything was beige :D What else is different?

A lot is different, I am unsure if I could remake it 100% accurate, Mark has fixed the ripped model at some point, but it's still smashed. I have idea and I will see what I could do tho :)

The another easier to remake car would be the BMW M3 and prolly the Econoline :)

I have aswell been working on some cool, will post more details, but to describe it shorty - pretty much the first Driver textures (and the undercarriage texture!) :specialdriver:

But what is "a lot"? :P That BMW has definitely different proportions in Stuntman and Driver 3, I can clearly see that. But I could have sworn the Zartex was the same, actually it's kind of the only car that made it through all of the Driver 3 era (Stuntman, Driver 3, Driver: Parallel Lines, Driver 76). I love it :)

But not as much as this one vvvvv :P

Yes in fact the model is pretty much the same, but quite different as in UV mapping, details, other stuff... I will try to take some pics from in-game ;)

Oh I think I get it ;) You mean it's more boxy for example and has less details. Cool!

I think the Driver 3 model was the best. I'm not sure why but I always had the feeling the DPL one was less detailed, and very similar to the Stuntman one. Also it has the same taillights like the Stuntman one. Personally I'd take the Driver 3 one and use this model to apply the Louisiana / NYPD / Miami etc. textures and light bars on it and also the different wheels / hubcaps :) There's a lot of Zartex BTW:

- Stuntman civilian
- Stuntman cop
- Driver 3 police Beta
- Driver 3 police
- Driver: Parallel Lines police Beta / Wii
- Driver: Parallel Lines police
- Driver: Parallel Lines civilian
- Driver 76

:P

Yep, but infact the DPL Wii model is the same (as far I compared ages ago). So here we go, to start off I needed clean Police Prowler rip:

Oh yeah, the Prowler/Zartex stands as one of my favourite Driver cars ever :specialdriver:

It's my favourite car too :) Well for all Driver games of that era.

The DPL Wii model is the same as what? As the DPL beta? Or what did you mean now :P

I'm just wondering one thing, in DPL you see a civilian Zartex in a cutscene somewhere at the end of the 1978 era. All other cars that you see in cutscenes are cars that can be driven in the game. Or at least that are seen in actual gameplay. I'm wondering if that civilian Zartex is found somewhere, or if it was ever meant to be drivable :)

I am sure there isnt civilian Zartex, but thats easy to make as model :P

I actually meant the DPL Wii model is same as PC, just lower res textures

Is what final? Am I missing something? :)

And I think all DPL ones are the same, the difference are only in the light bar (the Wii version uses the beta lights, but I don't think the PC version does? Maybe I'm wrong however).

Edit: Are you referring to the civilian Zartex or what?
User avatar

#47004
Yep im refering to the civilian Zartex as I dont know if this stunt is in final and how to get there :/

EDIT: Oooh nevermind, just figured its via Stunt Constructor. YES! :specialdriver:
User avatar

Hahaha! It's not a stunt in fact, it's just the stunt constructor. Every time you spawn a car it's a different model, I always used to spawn every 3rd car to always have the Zartex. But the car is also seen during the Louisiana level.

There's this guy on Youtube who drove all the "secret" vehicles via Action Replay, sadly he didn't drive the civilian Zartex. Would have loved to see that :)

I friggin need to get Action Replay via PCSX2, last time I failed. Anyway I found the civ Zartex textures, check it out :)

Cool man :)

I bought an Action Replay Max Evo 2 not long ago but it doesn't work with my PS2, it won't read it. My PS2 only reads a few games, it has a laser issue sadly :(
But how do you use it with PCSX2? I didn't know this was possible.

Cool, post it here if you find it some time :) I've also wanted to use it on PCSX (for PS1 basically) to modify all that stuff in Driver 1 & 2. I've tried with Cheat Engine but I failed, I don't know why I even started with this program, it's good for nothing, only for hacking scores into online leader boards *sigh*

The biggest crock of sh*t is, you can only drive the traffic vehicles with the EU AR Max, not the Yank one. Stunt arena construction vehicles can't be driven btw, they're classed as props.
The only time the civi non-cop Diplomat appears in Stuntman outside the arena is in the fly-by for "Outta-Town Nitro", when the camera shows the bridge and creek, there's one sticking up out of the water.
RF, be sure to rip the model+textures of the flaming F-150 monster truck and blue with red 80's stripe graphics+wire wheels Capri-you can only drive them with the EU AR Max however.
