Looking on the internet (youtube) there are still hundreds of videos posted from Driv3r every month, and it made me think that aside from the critical slaughtering and odd irritating feature (or lack of one), it was an OK game. Sure it wasn't the epic, revolutionary and involved mini-epic that the game was often refered to as being. However in its own right it did offer very neat visuals and a vast expanse of "living, breathing cities" that seemed to be getting on with something mundane whilst you drove like a looney!

Recall 2004, you could be good, be bad and be tanner as he explored an intricate story backing a diverse range of missions across 3 continents, each with their own adequate supply of cars, buildings, weather and people. It also gave users that full Film Director with savable cameras allowing all of its glitches to be clearly reported back to the end user ever the more! So do you guys agree or is it, as is often posted, the biggest attrocity reflections could have made if they tried?

GTA was one of the main reasons of the bad reception. If you look at the reviews, you will see a lot of references to GTA. Plus the bugs and glitches and the on-foot controls.

The on-foot controls weren't bad, but they took getting used to especially when you never played a console FPS game before. I think Driv3r is awesome. Everyone only wants to stick up for their pathetic GTA and not try something different.

FPS? First Person Shooter? What the hell are you going on about?

In my opinion,Driv3r had bad reception because it is a hard game,GTA is a easy game(mediocre),in some reviews of Driver 1 they wrote that the final mission is impossible,i love hard games because you can learn more about driving and better shooting(in GTA the driving sucks and the shooting is very easy)

The controls are the same as an FPS. I never played an FPS game until I played Driver.

I think the Driver series is very easy. Also, I beat the last mission of D1 in 6 or 7 tries. Piece of cake.

Driv3r.. heh. Nothing too bad. Not to great neither.

Reviewers just hate the Driver Series in general, that's all. In case you haven't realized, reviewers are biased.

Yep, all they care about is GTA and Gaylo.

Because "gay" is THE BEST INSULT EVER.
God, why do people even use it?

LOL. Dunno if yall have seen the commercial, but there's one for Ad Council where there are two teen girls and they're talking and one is like "haha she is so gay" and they both laugh and next thing you know, two other girls are talking right next to them, and the new girls in the scene are like "haha that's so Christy and Alex! hahahah" (don't remember the names actually used) and the first two girls just look at them like, "wait what?"

Some commercials are just stupid.

Suppossedly some commerical advertising against calling people Gay as a derogitory term, I dunno, it's stupid to me. I call people gay because it's funny. If you have the nerves to say somethings "so Derek" as an insult to me in person, I'll just laugh right in your face.

LOL, did see one today that was funny though, I know no one here saw it, because it was from the Louisiana Highway Traffic Institution, anyways. theres a guy driving a car and the guy is talking to the camera. He's like "Yup, so I'm driving intoxicated but it's OK cuz theres no cops out" then he rolls up on a police checkpoint and he's like "Heh heh looks like the cops are out tonight, but it's OK". Then the cop asks him to walk a straight line and he's talking to the camera like "Hey no problem" and he's wobbling and sh*t lol. Then he's just standing there and he looks at the camera and says "well.. looks like I'm going to jail, now out of desperation, I'm going to do this-" and he starts to run and lol the cops just nab him and he's like "yeah so I'm going to jail.. just another day in the life of a drunk driver."

LOL.. You have to see it to get the full effect.

Same here. That's usually what I do. I don't get much amusement out of Take a Ride.

1 day, yikkes! But I always take stupid amounts of time to clock games; I'm still on driver 2, 8 years on... that mission in Rio is just impossible; so impossible I have burnt out two disks playing it; well at least PS1 games cost less than a cup of Tea...

Random question 3, do you guys keep all you games or trade them in once you don't play them as much?

Groovy, its hard to pin down as my copy is shot till I pop to the local games shop; but it had a cut scene which leads you to follow a dude who runs out of a little shack, gets in a purpleish car and drives half way across town via the strange curvy road next to the lake (sorry for the worlds crappiest description) but in that level, so much can go wrong!

Oh yes, THAT mission. I hated it. It took me around 75 tries to beat it.
Just keep ramming him till he keels over.

If I remember correctly, I think I pushed him into that huge water cliff thingy ditch.

Isn't that like the last mission?

Took me forever to do it. At least 100 tries. It wasn't until after Katrina and I got a brand new Ps2 and hadn't touched the game in years until I beat it on my first try on the new console.

Grr. Driver 2 was frustrating.

No, the last mission is to chase a helicopter.
