She's a library aid at the school, and we're good friends, and she asked if i would be interested in this book, and I said yes. Today, at the end of 6th hour, she hands me the book: "The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler".
VERY amazing book, and a recommended read. It won an award, and is basically a biography on Hitler. It has a few chapters on his youth, but most of the book is for the Nazi party.

Hitler and I, we be tight.

f**k both Mussolini and Hitler! Go Lenin!
Hitler did have an amusing youth though. Did it have much on his antics in WW1? I know he fought against ANZAC troops, and that he got hit by gas, but I was never too interested in Hitler. He's really just a copycat...

You're lucky to have new stuff to read though :) I got stuck re-reading my old books... Which I won't mention... Because you're all guys and you'll actually see a moment of girlish weakness in me...

DOWN WITH LENIN! HEIL HITLER!
Not too much. The book focuses mainly on his life as a Nazi.
He was whipped as a child sometimes, and actually got over that. He was blinded by mustard gas for a while.
And he pretty much was a copycat. He got a lot of his ideas from Mussolini.

Also, the book has a headshot of Hitler on the cover, so I'll hold it up beside me head, and disturb the locals with how much I resemble him.

Hitler is now 120 years old.

Looks interesting, shame I've only read Chapter 1...

Did you know that it was actually Mussolini who invented the "Hitler salute"? He started using it because he hated shaking hands with people.

Sports havee usually never interested me, but I've always wanted to play baseball. Th only problem is if they make me a halfback. Can I tackle the shortstop or not?

I don't think there's a halfback in baseball, only football (I mean American Football, not soccer).

Five euro to anyone who knows who Henrik Larsson is..
Henrik Larsson is a Swedish footballer who played for Celtic and Man Utd. He currently plays for his home team, Helsingborg.

Harlequin: I know you Googled that.

Personally, I believe soccer/football is stupid. It's going around kicking a goddamn ball into a net. In Baseball (AMerica's pasttime), you have to hit the ball, make sure it's not a foul or strike, then run the bases without getting tagged.

Imo, Baseball is pointless. I really don't see how is it fun to see some dude hitting a ball and then run like a lunatic around the field. Same goes to American football, what is so fun to see a bunch of strong-brainless men running after an oval ball.

This also applies to wrestling.

This is from people who enjoy watching people kick balls about.
Personally, I've never liked football (either of them), but baseball, I hold close.

There's so much more to football (soccer) than kicking a ball about a pitch.

There's the skill, I mean, you're either good or bad at baseball, but in football, you can have good and bad players, but the skill they have, e.g. the basics and fancy skills like nutmegs and that.

The sport is the basis of the biggest competition on Earth, the World Cup.
And UEFA Champions League is defintley in the top 10 when it comes to biggest competitions on Earth.

As well as the drama involved, winning and losing, and also, the money, I mean, what other sport has a player been sold for €94,000,000 in?

PS: Do players be bought and sold in baseball and American football?

i dunno. I never follow sports.
BUT Baseball does in fact take skill. There's more than running around and hittng baseballs. What if you're on the other team? You gotta be able to catch, run, and pitch well

Run and throw. Oooooooooh.

And catching, how difficult.

Just another question: Why do they do stupid things before they picth? Does that actually make any differnece?

Very much a difference.
And you gotta run fast enough to make it to the next base.
And catching is harder than you think. I played baseball with a guy who ALWAYS let the ball slip right between his hands. Never failed.

And I just remembered a funny story my dad told me. Our new Athletics Director, Mr. Moore (for future reference, 2 Mr. Moore's work at the school) at the school used to play baseball with my dad. And my Tim, was that man bad at baseball. He is the proof that you gotta pitch well and fast. During practice one day, Moore was pitching, and my dad was up to bat. Moore throws the ball, and it was so bad that Dad put the bat to his side and caught the ball.
This man is now our Athletics Director

I googled who he's playing for now. I knew/know who he was/is. Funny thing about going to a Catholic school is that soccer is a massive part of life. My legal studies teacher started a football class. Half of the guys from my year now play for Adelaide United/Australia/Hearts.
Just because I'm a girl/Australian/whatever made you think that I didn't know who Henrik is doesn't mean that I don't know anything.

And I don't really get baseball... I played softball (badly, I might add) and I still don't get it. I watch the Olympics baseball thing... No offence, but I always go for Australia and then Japan... Just because I like seeing the yanks get taken down a peg ;)
emmetmcl wrote:PS: Do players be bought and sold in baseball and American football?
Yes, they do. It's generally referred to as "trading". It happens in most sports.

Lol! I hate wrestling. It's so stupid! A bunch of guys trying to grope each other? It's pretty much porn, dude!

I think we should all just agree to disagree, and that cricket is better than baseball...

Cricket?

Do not understand the rules at all, and it can take like a week to see who wins a test(?) but I'd rather it to baseball, mainly because it isn't American.

When you say Hearts, do you mean an Australian team or the Scottish one?
-You ever heard of Scott McDonald?
