A lot of the things to do with Newcastle revolve around hope, and if anyone knows how our football team is doing, it hasn't worked :(. Well I'll see you guys tomorrow, and we can keep on hoping  ...

Did Driver: Parallel Lines ever make it to E3.
Maybe it will be released earlier, and won't be at E3.

There are two locked games there. I'm pretty sure that one is Ghost Recon 4, and the other can be the next Driver, or other game.

By the way, this is the game that Ubisoft Reflections is working on:

EDIT 2:
UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES C.O.P. THE RECRUIT™ FOR THE NINTENDO DS™ SYSTEM

New Game Allows Players to Fight Crime in Full 3D Open World

SAN FRANCISCO – June 2, 2009 – Today Ubisoft® announced C.O.P. The Recruit, an open world action-adventure game specifically designed for the Nintendo DS™ handheld system. Scheduled for release in fall 2009, C.O.P. The Recruit gives gamers the opportunity to utilize tactics from both sides of the law and fight crime like never before in a full 3D open world, available for the first time on Nintendo DS. The game, unveiled today during Nintendo’s E3 press conference, will be demoed at Nintendo’s booth and Ubisoft’s booth through the duration of E3.

“With its innovative engine and impressive graphics, C.O.P. The Recruit is truly a breakthrough for Nintendo’s handheld platform,” said Adam Novickas, US director of marketing for Ubisoft. “We’re thrilled to be bringing this accessible, one-of-a-kind action-adventure experience to DS fans and are confident in the game’s ability to appeal to a broad audience of gamers.”

About C.O.P. The Recruit
Dan Miles is a former underground street racer and new recruit in the Criminal Overturn Program (C.O.P.). Under the terms of the C.O.P., Dan has become a street detective working to protect New York citizens against large-scale threats. Working with his mentor, Detective Brad Winter, Dan is investigating a series of terrorist attacks in the city when Brad is falsely arrested, putting the investigation on hold. While trying to uncover the truth behind Brad’s arrest, Dan goes undercover and returns to his life on the streets. Little by little he gets wrapped up in a deadly, widespread conspiracy and must work to prevent a potentially catastrophic attack on the city.

Game features include:
• ENJOY THE BEST VISUAL EXPERIENCE ON THE NINTENDO DS SYSTEM
Experience the thrill of cruising the streets of New York City without any loading times! C.O.P. The Recruit is the most visually impressive game on the Nintendo DS™, with an open-world 3D experience running at 60 frames per second (FPS). The game’s innovative engine also allows for a wealth of detailed imagery, whether driving at 120 MPH or shooting your way through the gorgeous interior environments.

• A HUGE ACTION-ADVENTURE WITH A VARIETY OF GAMEPLAY
C.O.P. The Recruit will allow gamers to experience all aspects of being a police officer recruit with 60 missions and over 20 hours of diverse gameplay. Get behind the wheel of some of the fastest cars around, and use the stylus to shoot down enemies and spy on terrorists.

• A CITY THRIVING WITH LIFE

• POWERFUL CITY-CONTROL SYSTEM
As a recruit, you will have access to New York City’s most powerful tools. Use your PDA to plan and launch a SWAT team assault through your DS system’s microphone, set up road blocks, summon an ambulance, access the city’s camera system to locate your targets, and much more.

Ghost Recon, Beyond Good and Evil, Rainbow Six Vegas 3, or Driver TR could fit the 2 empty slots but who knows.

Here's a trailer for COP the Recruit, looks good for the DS

*Shakes Head* Why? Seriously, Why? Do we really need a Emergency heroes volume 2? Why Is Ubisoft tasking Reflections to make these games? I'm honestly confused at this point, are they just a Wii developer now or are they still making actual games?

Gareth Edmondson being the studio head needs to address this sh*t immediately...

That may explain why almost no one who works in Ubisoft Reflections has more than 30 years old.

EDIT: Here's a preview of Monsters 4X4 on Official Nintendo Magazine:
Remember Monster 4X4? It was a Wii launch game but it kind of got lost in amongst all the excitement surrounding Zelda and Wii Sports. The fact that it was a bit rubbish (53%, ONM 12) didn't help!

Anyway, Ubisoft has announced a sequel. It's called Monster 4X4: Stunt Racer and it will be coming to Wii in the fourth quarter of the year.

This time Ubisoft Reflections are on development duties. Reflections were the guys behind the Driver and Stuntman games so they know a bit about making driving games.

Once again, you'll be getting behind the wheel of a 4X4 truck and attempting crazy tricks as you race around seven tracks and there is a new wall-driving feature which allows you to reach shortcuts, avoid difficult terrain and cross the finish line right before your friends. You can also use nitro to do barrel rolls.

In fact, there is a lot of new stuff in the Stunt Racer. The vehicles are now upgradeable so you can improve your European Super Car or American SUV with new parts to give you the edge in a race.

In addition to Race, there are six other modes including Last Man Standing, Weapon Master, Car Crusher, Time Attack, Freestyle and Grand Prix. There are also 50 different challenges spread across 10 ranks and over 30 side missions so although there are only seven tracks, there's plenty to do.

Those tracks will take you from inner-city construction sites to out-of-town canyons and each one will feature different terrains. You'll need to make sure you avoid mud pools and patches of ice or you'll risk losing control. However, there are alternative routes and you can decide between scoring points to gain nitro and taking the racing line to make up time.

As for multi-player, there's a four player split-screen mode including Truck Soccer, Racing, Freestyle Show-Off, and Car Crushing.

Well, we have give them a while now to update the events page, but it still says "Product Locked - to be revealed soon" on two of the boxes, and when I looked, it had a news post on the right which the storys title said: "C.O.P. The Recruitâ„¢ Announced"

So, if they've updated the news but not the boxes, then the boxes must be for two other titles that are due to be announced!.

Heres the link:

I'm losing my hope. For three years we haven't heard any word on a Driver game, except for that video back in July '06. If they don't want the series, why they paid $24 million for it then? I'm pretty sick of this.
Yes, Driver may not have been a critical sucess since the original one. But don't they want at least to try and see what will happen?
I'm pretty sure that the locked game is either Beyond Good & Evil 2 or Ghost Recon 4. Yes, we still have today and tomorrow for an E3 appearence of Driver, but I bet that nothing will be shown at all.

If something will ever be shown, it will be just a 1 min video and nothing more. Yes, I'm very annoyed!

Driver for PSX was legendary. It pretty much went downhill from there. Driv3r, commercially, was an epic failure. Glitchy, Tanner's "walk", "GTA RIP-OFF", etc.

Parallel Lines didn't do that great.

I'm telling you, a new remake of Driver 1 would be the best thing they could do. Hell, I would buy it.

What people need to start realizing is that Driver isn't a GTA clone. (Of course, every GTA fanboy will tell ya that any game without Grand Theft Auto in front of it is a clone, or crap.) Anyways, I don't think they're just holding it back for suspense. I think they are scared to release another Driver. That's just what I think, even though it looks like they are going to, they look like they're hesitant.

I don't know why people think just because it is a sandbox game it has to be Grand Theft Auto, or a game where you shoot everyone up.

Driver 1 was perfect. Give us the best driving physics hubcap flyin cop chasin game that hits Xbox 360 and PS3 or next-gen consoles. And I could bet ya it would sell.

The problem is that since the bad reception of Driv3r, everyone thinks that Driver copied GTA. Yes, Driver more recently may have used some GTA elements, but GTA did the same back in 2001.

By the way, you can all stop dreaming. The locked games in Ubisoft Live site are unlocked, and there's no Driver...

Just got another e-mail from Nimrod after I asked them about Driver not being there after telling me it would be and they said it was there, just not in a public capacity.

Would this usually happen, and who would have been told at E3?
