Because you are mailing randoms in a quest for knowledge on my most anticipated game! Thanks for your work, despite the constant dead ends, but nothing ventured, nothing gained! Also, has any one played the 4D Killzone bullet ad tech demo, WOW, that is all.

I've sent PEGI another one asking about the rating for a game (Hit and Run: Miami Streets) which is made up to see if I get the same reply as before (or near enough).

If I do, it means they may not have heard of DRIVER TR, but if I get a different response then they may have heard of DTR.

The other day when I finished Driver 76 (again) I was watching the credits (as I always do, whether it be films or games) and came across a credit for scripting or something like that so I took a look at their website and clicked on Games and I found a project that is in development for Ubisoft that is to be released in 2009.

I know this could be another game and not Driver but there is a very good chance it is Driver, considering they have helped in all of the other Driver games from the first to Driver 76.

Here's the link: http://www.themustardcorporation.com/games.htm

It's in the second row, second in from the left.

Thanx for the link!.

I think that will really put concrete onto the fact that D:TR will be released 2009!.

I don't think that there is any other Ubisoft titles by them, So it could indeed be D:TR!.

Now we should just need to wait for E3 to roll on by for more details on D:TR (Since they have not announced D:TR yet and have unnanounced titles that'll be shown at E3, and the news that Ubi have copyrighted the name Driver: The Recruit to go by).

Well not too long now until E3! :D :D .

If the next Driver is going to be officialy announced, it will be in special conference one day before E3:

I definitely believe that Driver: The Recruit will be announced at the Ubisoft conference that Nick was referring too but after reading this topics 3 pages, I get the vibe you all want/expect the game to come out at the end of '09 if announced.

If that’s the case I think its market suicide by Ubisoft. My reasoning is simple, Ubi’s own Assassin's Creed 2 ships in November. Why release 2 high profile games when they’ll end up competing against each other.

Plus, Bioshock 2, Uncharted 2, and a wealth of other triple A titles are shipping during Q4 this year including the behemoth Modern Warfare 2. Driver most likely wouldn’t be able to compete in that crowd given that Ubi would only have 4-6 months to market the game.

I fully expect we get an E3 announcement, and hope we get a release date between Q1-Q2 2010.

Exactly what I think Moonchild. Specially when the series does not have the same popularity as before, releasing it when many other much more well known titles are being released is too risky. As I say, all that we can do is wait...

But they are completely different games, (Driver is a driving game, assasins creed 2 is not... so theres no competition between the two directly)

besides, they'll most likely release AC2 in early October, and D:TR in late October/early November.

but, that is only my opinion... I could be 100% wrong yet... (well, hopefully E3 will tell all)

I think you could be right, probably a March release seems most likely although I would really hope it comes in 2009.

Just another piece of information:

Nimrod Productions have done the music for the Driver The Recruit game.

I e-mailed them the following message yesterday:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Are you helping in the production of the new Driver title, Driver: The Recruit which is published by Ubisoft?

Any information would be appreciated.

Yours,
Emmet Mc Laughlin

and the response I got today was:

Hi Emmet... Unfortunately I am not allowed to say yet if I am composing/producing the soundtrack for the next Driver... but I have a feeling you won't be dissappointed! ;)

Cheers

So we can probably safely say that Nimrod have done the music for the game. Surely the game must be revealed at E3 as even the music has been finished for it, and I would assume that would be one of the last things done.

Just got a reply from PEGI about the Hit and Run: Miami Streets game which I made up.

I got basically the same reply as I did for the Driver enquiry, anyway, here is the e-mail they sent me:

Dear Emmet,

You recently submitted the question below on the pegi.info website.

Unfortunately we have to inform you that we cannot help you with this type of product related consumer questions. It is PEGI policy not to give out any information whatsoever about games that have not yet been released.

Details about the game’s rating will have to wait until after the game is released.

Kind regards,

After the question about the music, the music the guy asked me was I fan of Driver and I said yes, I hope it's at E3 and he replied with this...

Cool...

Yes - something will be at e3...

Cheers

That's really cool that he wrote back like that, I guess that means the 3 year wait is finally over, no more watching a crappy BBC video over and over...and over again.

I hope it’s more then a teaser trailer though. Seriously, Ubi showed off I Am Alive last year at E3 with an interesting but completely vague teaser trailer and they've shown nothing else since...

Whatever the case, I look forward too good times from here on out.

Acquiring the rights to licensed music is one of the first things done actually; I’m not sure about music created exclusively by a company/composer though.

http://kotaku.com/5271394/ubisoft-narro ... rs-line+up

My bad on the double post but Ubi announced today the release windows for its full line-up through today to the end of March 2010.

Driver is not a part of the 7 franchises group as previously thought/hoped. It would seem that DTR is a long way off

Possibly, but to be honest I would be happy enough with an announcement at E3, which we know will happen.

Bet the post above this looks pretty stupid now. :)

Anyway, remember this site: http://www.themustardcorporation.com/games_us.htm

Well, we thought the game in the second row, second from the left was Driver: The Recruit (for PS3) before the COP:The Recruit was announced and you could be forgiven for thinking that it is COP: The Recruit, but it's not.

I e-mailed the Mustard Corp. about a fortnight ago this:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Is the game that is in development for Ubisoft (2nd row, 2nd in from the left on the Games page) COP: The Recruit which is coming out on DS this year?
Yours,
Emmet Mc Laughlin.

and got this reply today:

Hi Emmet
Thanks for your mail, the short answer is: nope! ;)
Best
Marek

I've e-mailed him back asking if it is the PS3 version, but he probably won't tell me, but it's worth a try.

Sorry, every time I post something a screen comes up saying something about that it wasn't posted and something about a debug mode, but then when I click to post it again, it has already been posted.
Sorry if I went on a bit there.

More news,
This is the reply I sent:
Hi,
Is it by any chance a Driver game for the PS3/360/etc.?
I understand you aren't allowed to say anything if it is, but you could hint at it. ;)
Yours,
Emmet Mc Laughlin.

and this is what he sent:
Hi Emmet
You’re right – I can’t say anything about any project we’re working on for a client J
M

But does that mean that are working for Ubisoft, as I would assume he would just say it isn't a Driver game otherwise.

Any thoughts?

i think he has giving you a answer, a hint if you will! Look at how he worded he's response, it doesn't seem structured as it should, for someone as professional like him. You asked for a hint, now look at the Sentence.
You’re right – I can’t say anything about any project we’re working on for a client J
M
His made that sentence in two parts, if i was going to reply with just saying that we can't say anything i wouldn't word it like that and with the - he has segmented the sentence.

all i am saying, is just think about it

and that debug thing is nothing to do with your post, its a bug with the mail notifier, meaning that we don't get emails about watching the topic thing

Well the M stands for his name, I think it's Marc of something.

Not sure about the J, more than likely a mistake.

I'm thinking about it, but i just can't gather any clues, but i was always crap at cryptic clues! I do think that the m on the next line is his name; Marek , but i think that either there is a rather obvious clue in there, or, far more likely, he is playing us for chumps, that is letting us search for something he hasn't put in there.

I agree with bb. Maybe the "you're right" sentence may be refering to "Is it by any chance a Driver game for the PS3/360/etc.?". I think I'll ask a developer... I just need to fix it first.
