Sorry, but for the past couple of years I've been a total game playa hater. I only sometimes play driver games. Seriously the last time I played a game, it was driver: parallel lines about three months ago and i played it for 30 minutes just to get into a cop pursuit. I'm not sure why but the entire industry bores me to death (well not really, but I'd rather spend my time doing other things).

Oh! I did go to a LAN and played something, cannot even remember what it was. Might of been called Renegade

These days I can barely stick behind a computer.
I'm stuck in a pickle, because I'm studying in a similar industry (Computer Graphics). I'm thinking of taking next year off to sit down, chill out and see where it takes me. Since it's hard working out where you really want to be while your studying full time and sorting out other stuff.

Yes, i must admit that apart from my studies, there are still quite a few things that i would rather do than play on my PS3, I haven't been on it for ages. I blamed it on the games which seem more repetitive and much more of a muchness, I miss the fun I had on my Mega Drive and PS2... I suppose it could just be me getting old, ARRGH, never, but yea, and i have never played a PC game since i got Linux (they just don't work!).
Torus looks good, some less serious games; am I right in thinking you would want to just be a concept artist or similar?

I look at all that time I spent playing all these games in the past and I never really got anything more from it other than entertainment.

And the money spent on these games, some I still own and haven't played yet. I was still pretty good and waited until most games I own reach the $10 budget range.

and PSP was the worst console I owned. The fact I don't play games on it anymore and use it for music. It has the worst music playback capability and I cannot use it to plug my keyboard in and type stuff and why are they blocking the development for custom apps. Would have been worth investing into an ipod touch or iphone. At least they have custom apps .

Anyways, back to my point. Imagine if I could go back in time and didn't play games. This forum may not have existed, I don't think I'll explain this in anymore detail I'm sure you all know where I'm going with this.

BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Australia confirmed its first case of swine flu after a 23-year-old woman tested positive for the virus Saturday.

The woman was on a trip to U.S. and arrived in Brisbane Thursday. Australia government, however, said the woman is no longer infectious and had a weak strain of the virus.

Australia Health Minister Nicola Roxon said the woman began experiencing symptoms while in the U.S. on April 27 and had recovered before returning to Australia.

She identified herself to a nurse at Brisbane Airport and was given a mask, swabbed and asked to remain in isolation.

As a precaution, Roxon said authorities were contacting other passengers who were on flight QF16 from Los Angeles, with the woman.

New Zealand Farmers have fought our government to change the name of Swine Flu to something more friendly, as people fear our meat although we can't get sick off it. Government says no though.

I know what they say. My dad came back from southern California week before last and was quarantined because of a cold. But there were no cases until Saturday, and the papers didn't say that there were any. They actually said people were being tested. So bah to you! Jokes. Its totally out of control.
And are you saying that because I don't work, I don't read the paper, because I can totally one up you on that... Like with "I go to university (or tafe ) so I can have a decent career, so I read the paper."

Since you started the bitching, i will say firstly i have had offers for a more advanced role inside my work, and i am putting a resume to enter the head office department, oyu don't need Tafe for a career, and " i work i read that paper" MEANS the chances of most of the people in this forum, that are still at school, WOULD NOT read the paper, even if there lives depended on it. And another thing, the reason, why people at my work read the paper is that, what else do you do in a 1 hour lunch break, i mean you can only look at the shops so many times, before you have seen anything? RIGHT! Although at least there is the game store called "Game" opening so that's at least 1 new shop i haven't visited. I almost forgot another reason i buy the paper is because ever since this guy left, that always reads the paper, there is nothing to read in the staff room, so at least if i buy the paper and leave it there it gives other people something to read too.

And also as i was saying, you don't need University or Tafe to make a career for yourself, you just need to be prepared to do whatever it takes, work hard and stuff, and you will find if you are willing to learn they will teach you at your job, they might send you to Tafe to get what you need in the Job. I mean if and when i take this better position at my work, i belwive they will send me to Tafe to get the proper degree, and of course my work, would pay for it.

Also maybe did you think that actually i like my Job, i get along with everyone there and i will be reluctant to leave. Just some food for thought, and remember Harliquin, just because your way is the right way for you doesn't mean its the right way for everyone, and just because someone says something that is right in there own way, doesn't give you the right to come over with your fire hose and put it out, everyone has different thoughts, the idea of a forum is to express them without retribution and not have to worry about what others say.

Maybe you should consider that, since there are often periods of time, like frees, that students have nothing to do in, they will read the paper. Or they will read it to get information for assignments. I do both. And, just a little bit of info, I read sixty-two different newspapers a week. Not even the five advertisers, morning heralds, etc. Absolutely different papers. So, yeah, back off.
And I didn't start the bitching. What I said was unintentionally bitchy, and I did in fact apologise for it. And then I said something else bitchy, because it just so happens, I read the paper more than you, and I don't work...So nyer.

Also read what i said, it was a generalization, yes people here may read the paper, i was saying that from what i have noticed, and stop using what you do, as fore runner of what everyone else does, i know you read a fing lot, and other people may not.

As Harlequin (hope i spelled that right) said, Many students have free periods, loosely termed, Study periods, although no one ever studies during them, people either make a mess around the school, go to the nearest mcdonalds or hide somewhere for a while and have sex. Sorry but i don't know of students who read the paper during their free periods but i do know plenty who read the paper before school in the morning, i even check the current news headlines whenever i am in a computer room to see if anywhere exciting has been blown up.

And about the music thing...

And yeah Daltarin, I knew students like that too! But my old high school had a lot of issues with saying certain things, so the only way we learnt relevant stuff was by reading newspapers... And one of my courses requires that I research current events...( )
But then again, my high school was somewhat anal about not letting us of school grounds, so we couldn't do... anything really... lol! We had to spend our time either, god forbid, working or procrastinating through the use of the local newspapers...
On the plus side, we did have a pretty nifty collection of comics afterwards...
