Is the internet expensive in Australia? In Romania it costs 9$ a month and it's cabel not dial-up. For the 9 $ you get unlimited download and unlimited internet 24/7. Oh, did I mention that you get a phone line connected and free minutes to call anybody.

Um... we pay $9AU dollars just for a slow dial-up connection every month and we have to pay for each call to the internet.

Very frustrating, at it only goes at around 4kb/s, but it is unlimited. Except for the fact that we get a 10hour session limit. And that a couple of months ago it was $30 per month which was very annoying.

One would think internet would be cheap here, since we are rated some of the biggest users off the internet, maybe the big companies are cashing in on loads of profit.

I had dial-up too but you can't download only mp3 I mean you can't pssible download 200-500 mb because it would take 2 months. But I still didn't pay for the dialing and I had a phone too. I'm currently waiting for my cabel connection because I'm talking to you frome my office at work. I have a lot of spare time.

I call companyes from germany because I can speek german and I ask them all sorts of questions about their company; Software; Hardware....

I'm at school, but in my spare time I work on this Driver Website and of course play driver

And I fix up peoples computers if they have any problems.
I also sometimes design peoples websites for them.

And I'm starting to go to the auctions and purcahse computers for cheap, fixing them up and reselling them.

Currently I haven't made all that much but previously I have and I hope to get a few more jobs done soon so I can buy a new graphics card which will help me mod DRIV3R even better

Plus! I have to pay for the hosting this sites on, and a few other things.

How much does it cost to host this site?

When I sum everything up it's around

AU$100 - 1 Year Hosting
AU$30 - for domains 1yr each (haven't gotten one yet, but getting one soon)
AU$100 - for some of the scripts i'm purchasing for this site. These are one off payments, not all of them have been purchased but there slowly getting payed and added to this site.

Now you might be thinking what pays for these, well basicly I do, however I try to make some out of the google ads above and also that support Driver Madness firefox thing and I also may be adding a pay-pal donation feature which supports all major credit-cards...

So far the ads have only coverd 40% of a years hosting, but If I started losing out on money I'll just add a pay-pal donate button to this site.

And you may not wanna donate now but once you see all the other sites I've created It may make people wanna put something back

However I do all of this for fun and experience, however it can sometimes be an annoying headach, making all those websites... But once I've finished it will be well worth it.

If it wern't for our new active members there are a few things I wouldn't have worryed about including the party that we will be having soon once I get all that set up.

well look, you do realize that somthing like this for real to be on PS2 and/or PC and XBOX would cost millions--depending-- because most funds would go to employes, but ill do it for free, but i really need to get back in touch with xtsubarublazin, i am very good with everything in architecture, and video games, plus im good with computers, so really i can hellp you with anything, jus e-mail me with ideas for cars (something i can draw superbly) buildings (good with that too) and even people, so if ur serious, jus e-mail me, and i'll try to figure out a way to make it work but in tha meantime jus keep up with making a story, we'll get it right

Well it is true, developers like Reflections spend almost billions creating a game. But creating a really simple game with only cars and no on foot should be a lot cheaper and easier.

But compared to games you'd pay for it'd be pretty crap, but worth playing for the price

yeh, it was pretty interesting, I played it for about 10mins amazingly until I got board . Anyways, as I said I plan to add buildings and other things like that to make it a bit more interesting, however I don't know how to code/insert some sort of AI for traffic, so I don't think we will see traffic in there for a while.

Is that the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine which GTA:IV was created in.

Now that I check is that that name must be used twice, I found the one you where talking about, I'll take a look at this one to see what can be done with it.

I found a big list of about 100 different engines, you just have to choose the right one and the best ones are always expensive.

There was one called C4 which looked good and it looked pretty easy to use but it was too expensive, and and even better one was the source engine which was used in Half-Life 2 however that one was way too expensive and I couldn't even work out how to purchase it it was that expensive.

you been a bit like runescape and games like that where you can play against everyone just by using a browser and nothing else.

That would be pretty hard to create, but would be very awesome to see a driving game and maybe even some on-foot shooting stuff,

With internet getting faster maybe one day we could see a 3d version of this
