So, who want the new 100% console that fully uses 3G technology?

Image

It seems that it'll be a good console, specially for people that can't afford a Wii or even a DS (And I'm one of those people :( )

The console will come with three games and you can, latter, download three new ones for free (Need for Speed: Carbon, Prey and Quake)

Downloading an entire game using 3G technology seems ridiculous and 2G is slower than dial-up if where talking about wireless networks.

Sure 3G is 60kb second, but here it can cost companies $20 to 40 to transfer two gig. While a standard PS2 game is 4.5gig.

A PS2 is just as good and has many more titles, it seems like a better investment. But in a country like Rio importing and exchange costs so much it probably adds so much more to the price.

They're only using 3G technology due to the piracy, that is something that really hurts Brazil.

Country like Rio? Wait! Rio is a city. You mean Brazil, right?

Yeah, I meant Brazil.
If there imported games it'll only be hurting other big countries like the US.
Although I guess that would impact retail chains like EB Games.

sorry, but I agree, agree, agree .
I'm amazed publishers and developers are even creating games for it.
(Need for Speed: Carbon, Prey and Quake), are there any screenshots anywhere?

No screenshots yet. Probably due to the fact that the console is only going to be released in October 2009.

It may be "crap", but already a good (late) start. In reality, Brazil should be, for a long time, one of the biggest on the video games market, however, due to high taxes, most developers doesn't want to start something here. I find funny how Brazil want to be a important country, when they don't lower the taxes. Mostly to technology-based stuff.

Only now the companies are knowing that Brazil does exist. Like Ubisoft opening a studio here, Sony is opening a production department to produce PlayStation 2 here (Yeah, finally PlayStatons are being made in Brazil. It's a shame, because my PS2 comes from Mexico  ) and also Sony is going to help brazilians game developers with SDKs to develop games for PS2.
