DRIVER2f3n I would have originally made some models for these textures but I have two massive projects on my plate as of now. One being the 50's era movie and also a game I'm making.

Well it 'seems' like we won't be getting a new Driver game any time soon. Reflections posted some pics on their Facebook page of an interview thing they had with Edge Magazine. The following was quoted after talking about their strengths and weaknesses:

'It's a skillset, however, that ideally suited the company's hallmark series, which seemingly retired on a high in 2011. Certainly Musson (one of the key staff at Reflections, producer on The Crew) misses Driver keenly. Is he in love with the series? "I think...yes, I am. Should we be making another Driver for the sake of it? No. We need to do something special as a studio. If that's Driver, then fair enough, but it might not be. It might not even be a driving game- it's what I like doing, but the studio has moved in to a lot of different areas recently. So, as a studio, we need to know where we are going."

Well now Driver will become an ancient landmark in gaming. Too bad it has to die now. I was expecting greater, in Driver 4.

Yeah that is true but, I was think about how GTA has a drunk ass numbering system of their games so I just guessed what Reflections would have done.

No.

Regarding Driver, ya. We saw this coming. I mean, sure there's a chance they'll make a Driver but there's just as big of a chance they won't. Not all hope is lost but don't have high hopes either.

More info about why there won't be another Driver game... for a while.
"We knew that to enter the driving genre today, you needed to be super innovative otherwise it was commercially not viable. There is much love for Driver inside Ubisoft and here at the studio, but we had to make the decision to silence it for a while."

It's funny how they said that, because in 2011 they informed that the "sales were better than planned". The corporate website mentions that the whole series sold 16 million copies, and I remember perfectly that the series had sold 14 million copies before San Francisco was released. So either they are giving a really lame excuse or Ubisoft is lying to its investors. Nevertheless, it's kinda know that Ubisoft takes a really long time to release a new game that is not Assassin's Creed. And I'm sure that the next Driver will be released alongside the new Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil 2.

"Ubisoft was disappointed with sales of 2011's Driver: San Francisco."
lmao, and before they said they were impressed with the sales. f***ing lying Ubishit shysters.

Watch_Dogs started out as the next Driver. Sadly, they think that they need to re-invent the wheel if they want to try making a Driver game again, because people would get bored of the old "drive here, ram that, evade this, etc.".

Well, maybe we can't count on Ubisoft, but we still have the Community! Amazing Mods and Fan-made games are coming. Maybe this will even convince Reflections to try again!

Yeah, I remember that being said, then I got hyped because I thought they would of already started making another Driver game. Looks like The Crew will have to do for now

What else could they possibly do at this point, anyway?

Hmm not sure what they would do next. Probably make another random game. (Watch Dogs for example was new and somewhat random)

Good.
The original staff is gone, there's no point in making sequels of something that other people have made in the past. Driver SF is completely different and I take it as a reboot in a different universe with the same characters.
I always take games as spin-offs if those games are made by other people, like Hitman Absolution and the upcoming one.

Unless, if I'd be able to make games (wish I could, damn), I would make a Driver 1 remake.

P.S.: why the heck are they talking about Driver like they own it and did everything even though they joined Reflections later? Oh, I mean, UBISOFT Reflections.
P.P.S: Driver SF sales were bad because the people were disappointed on how Driver has turned, no surprise there. I love that game, but we were all expecting a Driver that would have gone back to the roots.

This too
If any original Driver developers are still hanging around on that company, then we may see another one.
I'm almost afraid if another Driver game comes out... Why?
Because I'm afraid Ubishiet will rape the soul purpose of driver and make it a mix of DSF's goodie goodie personality with an overall very poor nonsense story line, and limit the free roam experience into ONLY in-car... Again... (Don't get me wrong I see the idea of being only in car in DSF, I just don't want ANOTHER UDH (Ultra HD) Driver pullin that sh*t.
