I was taking a look at all the files and I found a few interesting and helpful things. This finding may get us closer to modding other segments of the game.

Now that's all the plugins that the game was created from. Now I'm lead to believe that all these plugins work with 3DMAXS and it is possible to download a full 30day trail so maybe there is still something we can do. I can also get all the source lists if anyone wants them for any particular reason and with all the different files I've seen I'd love to go down to reflections and check out all those files rendered.

Well I can certainly tell you don't have the mind for a "modifier" or a "developer" or a "programmer".

It is all pretty much explained but if you don't understand I'll explain it some more...

for example...

it was exported by a user or a computer named "rarmstrong" at the date 26/02/07 at 12:45. Using the AnimDatabase Executable.

Exported by ADM-ART-USR on PC name SRV-ART on 07/03/07 at 12:15:28

It was exported by a logged in user "ADM-ART-USR" to a pc named (SRV-ART) on 07/03/07.

Basically someone from the reflections team is a game artist user who exported his work onto reflections art server.

This information is actually quite interesting and useful telling us about Reflections Network Infrastructure.

and here is a directory and it's filename on the server which is aparrently drive Z:.

They are very organized keeping everything very clean :P
They even made a New York folder which probably means they may have started creating content from other cities for driver 4 but somewhere down the track changed their mind to only making NewYork and stuff like that.

I guess all this information wasn't left in the file on purpose its exporter just left logs inside the file where everything was exported from.

or maybe they are just being clever and have left trails and clues in this version about the next game. maybe thats what the video you thing is driver 3 actually is. a tiny preview of the next game for people like you who like to read all of the files. and i don't want to be a modifier as you put it. I want to make the ideas and tell people what it is i want them to do. and maybe make a 3d model or two of some cars or cities. maybe if i spent time trying to work this stuff out i could but the truth is at this point in my life i just cant be bothered.

Fair enough, it is a very big job.
To create 3D models it also takes a lot longer...
Making a full 3D vehicle like the ones in dpl take 3weeks full time work and for the characters it usually takes 12 hours for a low poly character like the in game tk or tanner to the high poly tk or tanner which would probably take a few weeks to make.

But where slightly veering off topic, so lets get this topic back on track,
It is very unlikely they would leave clues like that on purpose. In fact leaving things like that could be a threat to their netwoek system.

I dont see how leaving clues of the next game threatens their network. it seems perfectly all right to me and sounds like the kind of thing i would do to make the wait fot the fans just that much easier.

The security thread is that they left their computer names on there as well as the location of certain files. I'm not sure how these criminals work into getting into networks where there not meant to be able to but I'm sure this information would help them.

But still don't see how any of this would relate to a future release of dpl.

We still don't even know if tanner is going to be in it.
But if tanner isn't in it there are going to be a lot of angry fans out their.

Really these days I don't mind as much anymore, Tanner was the best and TK was great but not as good. Who ever they choose or whatever they do I think reflections will make a good choice, well that's my opinion.

as long as the game is stylish and has everything the previous games had it'll be perfect.

These logs where simply found in the files themselves at the bottom of the script. I'm not sure if your stuck with notepad or something like that because notepad won't work with files like that. I found these using a HEX editor which gives you a hexadecimal view of all the files, as well as the ASCII version of the file.

Once again I found this at the bottom of the file, it's amazing what lots of patients can do, I've almost been through all of the HEX files and I'm starting to find lots of interesting stuff.

The files are too big for notepad. Wordpad works, but you can't read anything.

if you want me to recommend you a program one of the best hex editors I've come across is "UltraEdit" it's really powerful and it's what I've been using for looking around the code of driv3r, and dpl.

Thanks, but I'm using a progam called "XVI32". And I found the things you mentioned. Now I'm wondering what formats .ml4 or .gck.rimodel are. I don't found any useful informations about them.

I've taking a little look around and no luck finding any of the plugins, I'm thinking maybe that reflections created their own tools, for use with the game which makes things a lot harder because reflections are the only ones with access to those tools.

But at least it'll be still possible to export something similar one day I hope.

EDIT: I've done some more research on the file-names used above here is what I have found.
