Discussion for Driver: San Francisco (2011)

What do you think of the new SHIFT feature?

Great idea. I can hardly wait to try it.

They may as well have left out the "F".

Let's make it official here.

Personally, I think this looks like it will add a lot of excitement to multiplayer, but hopefully it will not make things utterly chaotic.

I personally never liked any god-a-like features in games (even in driving games its.. stupid) where is having it as like as Admin Console or Center for GTA, and killing the driving one car, and trying to escape the cops or drive thru the rush hour traffic, as trying to keep your car with minimal damage. Hell, I think it wouldn`t happen. On my opinion "SHIFT" defines shifting cars one-after-another, which is useless and stupid option on my opinion (why do you will use it before you will crash somewhere? Damn it...).

After all, I`m having my working Driver on my Laptop and PC, so I do not care too serious if UbiSoft will make the newest FaceBook Ad campaign for it`s Driver: SF, making comics and giving away Dodge Challenger toy car model within orders of Driver: SF.
Well, There is nothing worse in all that work... just, everything goes into Ubi`s pocket.

But I`ll be a true fan of Driver and Driver2 forever. These games are just the best.

So... my final opinion is that, when Driver will be released, we will see if it`s good game or it`s worse than Driver for GBA or GSM.

PS
The last option defines it perfect.

It is too bad they did not include both the SHIFT feature and the atrocious part in DRIVER: SAN FRANCISCO.

LOL Atrocious. For many people, that term seems to define the on-foot aspect perfectly, to borrow TheOldGamer's expression.

I am not one of those "many people", however. I like the on-foot gameplay in DRIVER 2 and DRIV3R. I think it is fun, and a good way to go sightseeing, as others have mentioned.

Yeah, man. So shall I. I am very happy that there is a strong sense of enthusiasm for DRIVER and DRIVER 2 within the DriverMadness.net community.

I think its useless, I WANT THE CLASSICS!!!!

But unfortunately the classics are outdated for most of the world population of today... :(
I personally liked D2's on foot bettr than D3's. Because there wasn't those friggin' on-foot cops shooting your tires. But D3's car physics were the best of the series imo

Yeah, Driv3r was very ahead of its time, i was very impressed when i first played it. It was like 100 times better than the cartoonish GTA

Imho D3 has nice physics, but I didn't like it so much as D2. When I plugged in my steering wheel to computer and used as analog controller in D2, there was A LOT of fun.
D3's car handling was good, it looked good and was QUITE realistic. But it wasn't challenging. There wasn't any option you could fail ANY drift.
DPL was artifical a little bit, but it given me more fun than D3 physics, and then I always cried that in DPL there weren't replays.

At least the new game has them! I loved driv3r and I'm playing through it at work for the lols, I just wish they would have another stab and an almost killer formula for a driver game...
