Did the best I could to match the PSX version as the actual textures didnt fit the PC model properly but they are attached below. Tell me what you think.

As for beta information, i'll start looking into it and tell you what the deal is. There are defo women pedestrians in the replay file so there will be some interesting finds. There already seems to be a light texture off an NPC car that seems to have some initials written across them. Dunno what the deal is there, was prob a developer pulling a snidy move.

Anyways, i'll add the files here, tell me what you think.

EDIT. PSXVRAM thing is fixed, should work now

I tried to project textures on my model and got this:

Model is in Wavefront OBJ format as usual, wheels and damaged model not included (because there is no importer for now)

Thats looking well. You can understand what i've been 'trying' to do with the PC textures though, really it was about aligning the side bumper textures with the front and back bumpers, theyre still a tad streched though which is annoying.

If youve been using the VRAM thing in the zip file you might find these co ordinates handy, i cant be assed at the moment to look for more textures (i've spent the last few days of my life just finding all the buick ones) but im sure someone else can post more co ordinates here. Heres what i got so far:

Beta Buick GSX

4 Bit (496,224), clut (976, 295) bonnet clean damaged
4 Bit (816,80), clut (992, 285) back left light clean damaged

I put SOAP's model to rest, because I actually used a REAL beta model from the game (I didn't realize I overwrote the picture of it in the PROJECT CHALLENGER thread...)

THIS TOOK ME 55 MINUTES TO TEXTURE!! :shock:

I still like SOAP's model though, it is VERY close to the original...too bad he used the small textures and not the big textures :(

YES! Exactly! He used Maverick's modified Beta Buick textures, which are really small. I posted some bigger ones. And plus, I turned off Anti-Aliasing in 3DS Max so it looks like a PS1 Model.

Ah i see your point about the bumper bit now, very well done! How about the 'Beta Buick Mk II' then? As in the one seen with the different/final back lights in the LA screens? Anyone got those light textures?

As for the other files, im looking into the sound ones at the minute and trying to convert time, finding that a tad impossible. I was trying to get into the replay file too but that has a .REP extension so its looking glim at the moment.

Oh and for those who want to do a bit of their own texture editing, you might find the attached file handy :)

This is pretty exciting, I must say. 11 years of waiting and digging, and we finally have our hands on the GSX texture. Hopefully, we get the model next.

Edit: Huzzah for being a dumbass. I failed to notice that Doom already HAD the model. Oops.

Actually.. I was messing around with epsxe once and managed to load the textures from another save state, giving the skylark a completely different texture! Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the vram in a save state? :P

Dude, if we could import cars into Driver PC then the Driver modding community would have EXPLODED by now. You would have probably seen an entire thread dedicated to importing cars, and you'd know for sure if you could import cars. But we're working on that right now, we have a new texture editor coming out on May 1st, and hopefully sometime around late May/early to mid June, we'll see a model editor. It will take some time, super_slav.

Today I'm found the demo disc contained the first demo of Driver with Yellow-Black buick GSX.
Just googled for SCED_011.53 and found (PSM) Euro Demo 43:

There is only shown replay as on screenshots. I disabled the replay mode, but any controls doesn't work (even in pause mode that enables by some code) :cry:, need try to find the activation code or button codes or it's not compiled in.

Also I found in the MIAMI.LEV file old model names (PLAYERCAR1, this still in PC version, but removed in second PSX demo).
There is a two PLAYERCARs: first is Yellow Buick and second is SuperFly (???) without textures
The pause menu contains debug entries (Repair car, Reset car, NoWeather, etc) and debug film director
