Nope. There's no way to get the code out, and we'd need to know what they were originally called anyways.

Say you create a truck called PL_TRK_1.3ds, and you need to compress it into a games format that it can recognize, so you do what you need to do and it becomes PL_TRK_1.3DF (3D Format, not real). NOW, you need to encode it into the master file, which is Trucks.GFD (Game File Database, not real). Then everything is run from GAME.EXE.

See what i'm saying? We don't know what file format they were modeled in, and how they were compressed. I doubt we'll ever see new 3d objects...

UPDATE: I contacted Andreas Tawn over @ tech-artists and I asked him what they modeled the stuff with and he told me they used Lightwave 5, or so he thinks. Its been almost a decade, so yea...surprised he remembered.

Thats very intresting i wonder if we cud use that to actually open any of the level achives and look at the models and 3d design.... 8)

Nope, he said they compressed it into their own internal format, meaning that its not something that is floating around the internet.

He also said they used some "old Irix SGI stuff"
