-first of all, sorry for my tech noobishness

You know how old games like NFS 4 or Midtown Madness 2 let you choose between "hardware" or "software only" render? and if you choose software only, it looked all pixelated and old. Is it possible to set Driver 1 on PC to software only? or at least to turn off the texture filtering? I know it sounds silly to want to downgrade the graphics, but it would look more like a 90s Playstation 1 game and that would be so nostalgic

Nope. Just use lower resolution, 16bit and disable AA from your video card settings, or just play Driver for PS1 lol.

Yeah, play it in a emulator, you'll get more variety of cars and Brimble's music. And obviously the old look.

thanks! yeah, I tried changing that setting and others in my graphics card, and setting the resolution as low as possible on that driver configurator thing, but the textures still look too detailed or too blurry but not pixelated closer to the ps1 one but not close enough. I guess I'll get the emulator.

There is a software renderer for Driver, just use the config utility to change the setting. Also set the resolution to 320x240 to satisfy your inexplicable insanity.

oh it doesnt let me choose that option in the Config utility, only Direct3d or Glide :c

My mistake, no, Driver does not have a software renderer. The back of the box asks for a Direct3D or Glide compatible card.

Glide was delicious back in the day.
