Well, police cars are the same everywhere. Let's take the Pontiac GTO. In the UK, the police has got some. These are Vauxhall Monaro's. In Australia and NZ they are called Holden Monaro. And in the US, Pontiac GTO.

The car on the picture DE showed us is a Holden Commodore, right ?

Yeah it is the holen commodore. VY or VZ model. I think they should use HSV's cause they have more power. HSV to holden is like MClaren to Mercedes. It stands for Holden Special Vehicles... For those who care.

HSV is the same thing as VXR for Vauxhall.

That's strange, I couldn't find a Monaro HSV on Google, only GTO HSV (It's the same car). Is the monaro called GTO in NZ and Australia, like in the US ?

I believe its know as the HSV GTS in Australia. I call all of them this as its originally Holden's design. Pontiac should of redesigned the GTO like Shelby has with the new Cobra instead of re-badgeing another manufacturers car still i'm sure they are all owned by the same company as usual.

Well, the monaro has gone out of production down this end of the world. there were a couple of versions.

The standard holden monaro
I think then the HSV Manaro
and the HSV Monaro GTO

I'm not sure though.

But we now have a new SUV in the holden range which is called the Captiva, basicly is is a suzuki sx4 with a holden badge. but GM always does that.

You know, in 2006 in DPL, on the streets, you see new taxis and old taxis. I think it's a shame that they are no old police cars from 1978 driving on the streets and chasing you in 2006.

That would be cool, but a bit inaccurate since the only other PD cars they use now are suvs and other ones that I'm too lazy to find. But that would be fun to have that annoying siren coming after you lol.

Yeah that really wouldn't happen in real life, they probably decomission cop cars after five years. I know that in NZ we can pick up an old cop car that was about 97 000 at the start for about 9 000 after four years of service, that's a great discount.

Yeah but that would be very inacurate considering that most police depts. in the US put cop cars up for auction to the general public after 7-10 years of service. And ten years of service in my opinion is a more than they should be run before auction, but that is way less than 30 years! There aint no way!. The best part is is tha they can range price wise to as low as $200. Thats right, two hundred bucks, and they still run and everything. My mom already agreed that when I get my license I can bid for one to drive if its cheap like around 200 bucks. (Like, around here they put up for auction Ford Crown Vics and Chevy Caprices, thats jsut awesome to me...)

Lucky you. My parents wont give me a car. I just use my mothers Mitsi Galant... I suck at driving too. Yeeha! I want an old police car though, just sitting in my garden like a garden ornimant. And then i can have car chases like in the Blues Brothers.
