In this little tutorial I'll explain how to replace a video file by your own FMV. All the video files played in the game can be found at the subfolder "FMV" of your "Driv3r"-folder. This video files have the extension *.XA. This is normaly a format used for video files in XBox-games, but these are just BIK-files. More informations about the BINK-format can be found here: http://www.radgametools.com/bnkmain.htm

Now you need to download the RAD Video Tools: http://www.radgametools.com/down/Bink/RADTools.exe

Start the program and browse to your FMV-directory. RAD normally don't know the format *.XA, but because these are just *.bik-files you can view all the videos and cutscenes with this tool. Choose "All files" and a *.XA-file. Now click "Play". A new window should open and show the chosen video.

Let's go to the really interesting stuff. How can we replace these video files with our own videos ? It's very easy. Start the RAD Video Tools and choose a video from your hard drive. The format really doesn't matter: *.avi, *.wmv, *.mpeg. I tested it with a *.wmv-file and it worked. So you also use a *.wmv-file for the first time. Now click on the button "Bink it!". A new window will open. There you can configure the conversion variables. But leave them alone and start the conversion by clicking on "Bink". If you chose a big file it will take several minutes. So try a smaller file size first.

When the conversion is done, you have to rename the file into *.XMV. Ignore the windows message following an click "Yes". The file name must be one used for an FMV in the game. So go to your "FMV"-folder and search for a filename. For example replace the stupid Nvidia-logo-video NVIDIA.XMV.

Now start the game and enjoy your video in full screen.
