Discussion for Driver: San Francisco (2011)

Last night I got bored and pulled out the full list of cars from the dngvehicles.sp file. It has been heavily trimmed from the "Resource Export" section, meaning all of the cars listed below are present in the file. Could anyone tell me if there's a car listed here that was removed from the final game?

I've already gone through that list and no, those cars are all correct. I've told Backnick about the Chevrolet ambulance some time ago, it's just the current ambulance and probably they didn't rename it.

The Town Car is correct, extended means it's the long wheelbase, and not that it's a stretch limo. And by the way: limousine doesn't mean what you're probably thinking of, a limousine is a car with a small window behind the rear doors. What you're talking about is a stretch limousine. ;) Either way, the Lincoln in this game is a Town Car Signature L — L standing for Long. You can read about it here

I'm not sure if you copied & pasted this, but I noticed a mistake by quickly going through it, it's the old Abarth. It's not a Fiat 500 Abarth, it's a Abarth 695 SS Assetto. It's not a Fiat at all actually, it's a bit like RUF for Porsches :) (The new one on the other hand IS a Fiat 500 Abarth, because that's after Abarth and Fiat got together — a bit like AMG for Mercedes)

To explain the rest a bit…

"Dodge Charger RT 1969 Challenge" is a Dodge Charger used in two challenges, the Dukes challenge and the Bullit challenge.
"Dodge Challenger RT 1970" is… not Tanner's car, it's the Challenger used in the Vanishing Point challenge.
"Tanner" is Tanner's car.

If you want to know the differences between those cars and their "normal" / drivable versions, then click the link in my signature, I made a video with all secret vehicles maybe half a year ago or so and all differences between the vehicles are mentioned in the videos.

Strange thing is that you listed the Desanne taxi, which does not feature in my version. Perhaps it's missing :( (Or was it another version? I know that I only have two Asym's, I remember we talked about it recently in the other thread, but I suppose it's the taxi version missing — or perhaps there was some misspelling).

As for removed cars…

The Mulsanne was replaced by the Arnage, so you won't find any left-overs. The A8 was replaced by the Quattro I think. The Lotus were not included at all. So no, there's no beta cars in there. And shame on you for not figuring this out yourself :P You should play more DSF if you don't know all cars by heart :specialdriver:

Anyway, hope this helped :)

@ambulance-That's retarded, then.
Limousine does not equal opera window-it was the correct terminology. I'm completely aware of the trim level on the Towncar-it's moronic that they listed it as "extended".

I played DSF and beat the game...almost a year ago. Haven't really played it much since.

This is the only texture left from the Chevy Box Van ambulance:

Image

There's a possibility it's linked with the Chevy C10, since it's directly above it. But that kinda cancels out since there's a dashboard texture above this one that's categorized under the box van (even though it doesn't belong to a 1989 Chevy Box van...). The model still exists but the format isn't understood yet.

That's clearly the C10 pickup  You can recognise that terrible orange that is found on the inside of the civilian version, as opposed to the tow truck. And basically you can recognise every other single part including the letters "10" :D

And no, a limousine is not a stretch limousine :D (a stretch limousine would be a limousine that was… stretched) except if you're maybe from the US and probably they have a different terminology so I don't know about that :D "Extended" was always used for cars with a long wheelbase, stretch limousines are 99% of the time built by different companies that work together with the car brand itself, but that means that they're not official models of this brand (you won't find them in any catalogues or price lists). That's why extended was always referring to an official extended version of a specific car, a slightly longer version (usually for business, for more room for passengers at the back) and not extended as in stretch limousine :)

But either way, we're not meant to see that stuff anyway so it has no real importance :P If you watch closely, the car in the game has a "Signature L" badge, so if you know about this car you'll know it's a LWB :)

Coach builders make limousines, and they're independent from the automaker. The Sig L badge is on the quarter panel-the C pillar.

And yep I think there's even a bug because for me it only shows up on one side. I've added it to the to-do list last week. Still have so much stuff to add to this list, but I doubt it's useful at all as they will never fix any of that :(
Type in limousine on Google Images, and look what you get-"Stretch" limousines.
And yep, that's a screwup on the Reflection's vehicle modeler's part.

Lol, I hardly believe that Google images will give you an exact definition of what a limousine is ;) You better look on Wikipedia. Google images show you stretch limousines because you search for the word 'limousine', which is included in 'stretch limousine' — so obviously this type of search won't work :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limousine

You see, most cars have a little window behind the read doors. The standard Lincoln Town Car is there as well — although it isn't a limousine because it doesn't have that little window. The reason why they show this pic of that standard Town Car is because they say it's the base model for modern stretch limousines in the US and Canada. Although the base model itself isn't even a limousine :)

Of course pics of stretch limousines are features as well, they are a type of limousines too after all :)
CarLuver69 wrote:Are you sure it's not intentional that the "Signature-L" shows up only on one side? That's not unheard of, you know...
What do you mean? It's definitely a mistake, the badge should of course show up on both side :) Watch from 5:00

Actually it's strange, if you go on the wikipedia "Sedan" page and then select another random language, for example german, it redirects you to "Limousine". So apparently in the US it has a different meaning. But since it's a french word, I'm just telling you what it actually is in Europe :P (and probably the rest of the world except US haha :D)

I knew limousine was French, and tbh I kind of thought it was the EU version of "Sedan".
