T.K., you are a buzz kill sometimes, man. Why not let dudes talk about gaming if they want to? Half the fun is pondering things one wishes he or she could do, whether it comes to fruition or not, like converting an old beater (or whatever you guys call it) into a driving simulator. Who among us is likely to ever do that? It is still fun to talk about, and this has more potential than that, surely.
Yeah, Nikussaken, that would be cool if the DMC could meet up in their own server, even if it could only host one game with less than 20 at a time or something. (No, I do not know what I am taking about here, T.K. et al, but please spare me that reprehensible MikuMikuCookie treatment or I will run home and tell my mommy, who knows both Santa Claus and Jesus. ) Whatever the limitations are, those could be taken into consideration when devising a plan for the fair usage of the thing among the DMC members. Game titles could rotate. Time zones could be reflected in access time blocks. It could be cool, especially since this is a racing community whose members enjoy old undemanding games as well as new titles.
What do you mean, though, man? Is this sort of thing not suited for driving or is racing in small numbers really not something that requires a dedicated server to be good enough?
Anything could happen, really. One never knows, right?
Maybe if people did not visit DriverMadness.net, take one look around and get the mistaken first impression from reading all the juvenile spillage that this place is just a bunch of little kids (eight-year-olds, Dude) smapping anything that moves, you could get enough regular members to make renting a dedicated game server seem like a pretty inexpensive proposal for each person willing to contribute.
Positive thinking is what this place needs more of, not negativity, man. You never know what kind of enthusiasm can be generated if the so-called "old members" provide the proper atmosphere at DriverMadness.net. One thing does stand to reason; it will be more difficult to recruit new members and discover surprising avenues of support develop if new members are pounced upon and cannibalized by little packs of rabid dogs or greeted in Sedans's Welcome Center by pornographic solicitations.
What are you guys talking about here anyway, PC gaming or the other stuff as well?
