I was just of their website, and i noticed it requires a internet connection to play the game, and i mean one on all the time, it does not require a cd/dvd, unlimited installs and saved games are synchronised online. Plus you can play this on a MAC.

This DRM is a standard on all Ubisoft game since the release of Assassin's Creed II for PC in February. From now on, all Ubisoft games for PC requires a permanent internet connection in order to play. If you are playing and your internet disconnects, then the game will simply stop running until it's back.

"Ubisoft is dumping the use of DRM on future PC games. That’s good news taken on its own, but there is a replacement for that DRM in the form of the Ubisoft Online Service Platform (OSP)."

There are hacks circulating online that allow one to circumvent UBISOFT'S OSP system. If this is more than a DriverMadness.net member is permitted to say about something like this, then please just delete this post and allow me to offer my apologies for screwing up.

Anyone knows what the connection speed to the Internet should be? Permanent connection to the Internet is not a problem for me, but here the speed ...

Or even for a Wi-Fi network, through adapter. Hum, well  I think I need my hands to be glued to ctrl+alt+delete keys, for Task Manager. That`s very bad, and crushes the Ubi`s thoughts of making Driver: SF a hit. I`m soo not getting this. I`ll not pay for a game which needs a damn internet connection to play, it`s VERY STUPID.
Also it`s the same way of playing Atari`s TDU. I hope Driver series will not turn to death as the Test Drive series...

It seems that internet speed is not a problem. You can have a 56k dial up and run it. It just need to be stable, though.

Huh... I don't know. Splinter Cell: Conviction had this DRM and it seems that it sold well regardless. They only need some interesting marketing strategy and people will pay for it anyway. Besides, most of the game's sale comes from consoles, so it's unlikely that it'll have any effect on the game's success.

Well, I just gave my opinion on that.
I don`t know any good racing game, or GTA like game, which requires network connection. Also, I`d better prefer to have and play a single player game not a multi or network (which I don`t know, what the hell thing it will do?) required one. Really.

In my country of origin, in Ucraine, mostly games that are sold are cracked(not original), it's hard to find an original game, but the benefit is that you can play the game without the CD inside

Ohh, that's good, but on the other hand the disvantage is that you must have a good broadband

Well it`s same in Bulgaria. Every time when a new game is released, after near day-week there is posted cracked version of it everywhere. To be sure, I`ll checking Zamunda and Pirate Bay :)
They`re one of the only sites with good (and working) versions of GTA, NFS and Driver.

I like to have original versions of the game, but sometimes i can't find them so i buy cracked version(mostly when i go to Ukraine, here in Spain you can only buy originals), i had an cracked Driver PL bought in Ukraine but recently i've bought an original Driver PL .

It's just an excuse to f**k-up with legit buyers. Actually, it's to verify if the game copy is legit or not. Also, it seems that save games are also saved on their servers.
