I bought my copy of the game, a few months ago, since the first installation, i've been getting errors when running San Francisco.
I didn't modify and SF related files, and the error is there after reinstalling it.
i tried installing the game on my other pc but the same error appears.
I talked to Madness and he said that the game might be missing some of these files:
..\Driver\Level
frisco_01.lev
Frisco.d3d
Frisco_01.cos
i checked, and they're not missing. i think that this might be caused by some scratches on the cd. is there a way to check if the files are corrupted and what else could be causing the problem?

To easiest way to check it I'd say is to do this...

1) Download and install IsoBuster.
2) Start the application while your "Driver" CD is in the drive.
3) Right click on "CD" on the left and click "Perform a surface scan".
4) Wait for this to complete. If it takes too long (as in it gets stuck at any percentage for a long time) then your disc probably has errors.
5) It should say if there were any errors encountered, if there wasn't, your disc should be alright...

Yeah! zonton2's information will tell you if the disk is a defect or not but then I would have thought that there would have been errors when you installed the game. Since the music and the fmv's are the only files which run of the disk and if they where damaged the game is told to skip it and say that it skipped it in it's debug file.

For future reference if anyone else has any problems or if it helps in anyone answering this problem here is what I was telling "Mario" here before.

I think I know your problem, the game usually gives out this error message when you have edited the content of the game improperly so I would suggest re-installing it.

If you still have the problem the game could be missing some of the .lev files or files which are required to make the level in that game run.

..\Driver\Level
frisco_01.lev
Frisco.d3d
Frisco_01.cos

If you haven't resolved your problem yet I would consider trying to load up San Fransisco and when you get the error message close the game down go to the games main directory and look for the file "debug.log" and copy it's contents here and it should be able to tell me the problem in more detail and it may be able to tell me what is causing the game to load improperly.

I have problems with that level, only it involves my car getting smashed into another dimension by the cops. :?: :!:
