Wow nice find! So probably this is why it was removed, it was too similar.

It seems like this is the cover of the PC version (for all areas I believe), which was different than the one for Playstation.

Well the Buick GSX is very iconic muscle car, plus this GTA1 is one of the few official covers (although it was sold more with the other cover version), and therefore GTA1 did not have Buick GSX either, they simply used it for the cover, I guess it's all simply coincidence. Let's not forget the Buick GSX in being iconic muscle car and always in the top 10.

Also the fact the Driver "Buick GSX" is just the Skylark, repainted in yellow, given brown stripes and new front/rear textures to give the GSX look :)

I think most of us are aware of that by now. It's just a shocker to see that cover on GTA...lol

GTA series isn't all too bad. I know, I know, this is the Driver forum, but GTA is still an awesome game on its own level. :P

Yeaaaah, right.
Its my opinion Olanov, the driving is boring and weird, the cops are 2 easy and i hate the swears, drugs, hookers, alcohol. Just everything about it does not appeal to me and who i am. I played gta 1 after i played driver 1 yes, but gta and driver had no rivalry back then when gta had its birds eye view gameplay. So its not a i <3 driver stuff gta thing. its a moral thing and i cant play gta without cringing. :|

If you say so.

Just thought the comment's a bit ironic because DPL and Driv3r both have lot's of violence, even D1 D2 and DSF, and DPL a lot of swearing on top of that, even drugs.

Hell, people actually swear a lot IRL

Well i don't swear irl, and i think there is no point to it. Dpl was the worst driver IMO!!! because of that and driv3r, d1, d2, doesn't have as much violence as the gta games (really....) and dsf, there is basically no violence (u cant hit people)

There are moments where I tend to swear but I learned myself to swear in a foreign language.

You might not, but that was not the point. People IRL do swear a lot, especially in urban enviroments. It can actually give the game a lot more depth.

Oh, and I found this when working on my new video and going frame by frame through this cutscene...

Yeah it will add depth, but i would be the one that would (if there was an option) turn swearing off...

Driver PL had one of the best touching storylines ever, maybe for some looked too GTA but for me not, it had a good character development and some unexpected moments, awesome soundtrack and challenging driving with a big traffic density.

I think that games related with crime should have swearing since it's really common and adds realism, also that kind of games aren't meant for a younger audience.

About violence, in my opinion DPL has the same level of violence as Driv3r but without blood. It also depends of the point of view, some may like a bloodier game and some less, in my case i don't like very graphic violence. I think that games should stay as games and not life simulators.

I agree with u in your last point, and DPL did have good character development, awesome soundtrack and some surprises, but it did (to me) feel to gta like, the addition of swearing and drugs just did not feel in belonged in driver. don't get me wrong i love the game, but there was always something in the back of my head, like the developers leant towards making it more for the general gamer, and kinda forgot there fans. Thats why when driver SF came out i loved how Martin Edmondson told us in the developers trailer that they where "going back to the roots" when making SF

If you don't mind me asking, what makes D3 your favorite Driver then? On foot controls where horrible (vehicle physics where awesome though) and is riddled with bugs.

I just loved it, i was young and tanner seemed so cool, the soundtrack was amazing (i actually liked the walking controls) the cars sounded so cool, The driving was AMAZING, the jumps, the laughs with my brother and my friends playing it all night. The look of the cities, the cut scenes AND how it did not swear and it just seemed cool and fun! the Run The Gauntlet movie, the shoot outs with the cops (especially at tanners house in Miami), the timmy vermicelli hunting, and the mini games they unlocked, the go kart racing AND OF COURSE the epic story. I dont know how to explain it but i didnt mind the glitches it just felt like the game redeemed itself by how overly awesome it was. i still play it everyday and it was the ONLY game i played for 2 years to dpl came out. I could go on forever.....but overall i just love the feeling and memory's of driv3r.

Same here, i also have that nostalgic feeling, maybe because it was my first Driver game.
