Teenagers want to try something different and if their stupid they go straight ahead and buy a packet for cigarettes some do this because they see someone cool in movies, TV, even seeing musicians in music videos is enough to endorse the product.
Then once they've gone out and tried them there addicted.
Addicted because there mind craves nicotine. Which is Faster than an injection, more reinforcing than cocaine. Smoking a cigarette speeds nicotine to the brain faster than any other delivery method, giving smokers precise control over their exact nicotine dose with each puff they take.
They become addicted because nicotine it's nature has been found to show that nicotine activates reward pathways. The circuitry within the brain that regulates feelings of pleasure and euphoria.
In simple terms, smoking takes pressure off the mind.
Probably the best stress reliever.
When those teenagers whom are addicted hang around there friends a lot. Then either there friends join the trend to fit in or more severe cases of peer-pressure where others friends force it on you and you feel you as if you have no choice and it may ruin your friendship if you don't take-up smoking.
Then if your smart and walk away in order to possibly save you life.
You may have lost your friend, but whats better losing a friend or possibly your life.
for a couple of weeks I had to live next to someone who always smoked.
I mostly stayed/slept outside because it smelt so bad and the fact I didn't want it affecting my health. Passive smoking is almost just as bad as smoking.
Don't smoke and lets all rejoice.
