Hi, yes i'm back, but i'll i want to do is explain NICELY why The GTA Series isn't a Driver Clone, i'm not trying to start a fight, now i will explain

You guys say that one of the reasons it's a Driver clone is becuase it Turned into a 3-D free roam Game, just becuase it became a 3-D Video Game that does not make it a Driver Clone, don't you think that Rockstar wanted to turn there Video Game from a sh*tty looking 2-D Game to a More detailed 3-D Video Game? And GTA was always free roam Game, even when 2-D

And as for GTA looking Cartoony, well, i never thought it looked Cartoony And even if it did it won't by GTA IV, looks more detailed than Driver, which actually looked VERY nice during cut-scenes but when it went back to Gameplay it looked like Crap

And really... Driver ended up becoming a GTA Clone when DRIV3R came out, i mean in DRIV3R thats when you could first shoot, unlike the last 2, hmm... I wonder where they got that from. Along with a bunch of other things.

Again, i'm not trying to start a fight.

I would tone down on the star thing, because that'll start annoying people.

anyways you only have a point where it was from a 2d game to a 3d game, of course they won't to make it better BUT they obviously wen't inteligent enough to make a 3D game back then.

Also remember GTAIV is a next generation game, Driver hasn't reached that stage yet just after working on Driver: 76 and Driver: Parallel Lines. We will have to wait another year or so before we see another release. But driv3r used really high textures which did better than GTAIII, and Vice City... San Andreas too but san andreas was ok, but didn't look as realistic.

Now to the things like weapons, we live in a lifestyle where we don't like to feel limited, and reflections interactive may have had no choice, it's like nfs going back the the way it was, time has just pasted by and everyone prefers this newer style of gameplay. Of course your never going to get out of a car in NFS however they did this in driver so you could change cars easily rather than going back to the front end menu all the time.

Then with the weapons, the developers really wanted everyone to have the ability to destory everything in an open world, the main idea was the destroy the cars you can shoot a pedestrian but it's no where near as fun as it is in the gta series.

In my eyes no one copied anyones idea, it's just the way things go. All games are starting to do this free-roam type thing, and who says it was gta's idea. It's just something everyone in the public perfer and developers want the public to buy there games.

Also to that note DRIV3R got into the top 100 pc games in a PC Powerplay magazine, infact it was 46 or somewhere similar in the top 100 rankings.

So as a note to everyone else, yes I unbanned driv3rdood, hoping he won't cause too many problems. I'll be watching all his posts carfully and it's still good to give everyone another chance. But seriously this isn't the best place to start complaining about the driver series so hopefully I don't see to much about this. We are just here to convince you about these things.

It's also funny that "driv3rdood" logged in only 1 min after unbanning him.

And everyone else refrain yourself from flamming, we had too much of that previously.

And just one thing: GTA appeard before Driver, but Reflections wanted to put the Hollywood-Action in the forderground and GTA is only a gangster game. And I don't understand the title: Grand Theft Auto. Why Auto ? The game has nothing more to o with cars. Of course you can driver cars and trucks and bikes, but these are not the most important thing in the game.

Its called GTA becasue you can steal cars. no lol idk i really loved san andreas it was my favorite game before getting up came into the US.. their both good seried though, just D3 was really just a **** up, i mean it had good damage and fun glitches but it really wasnt that great.

I guess the game is more about stealing cars in a way, well the name suggests that but the cars handing is horrible and unrealistic in the game. But it's not that bad.

Grand Theft Auto is a crime committed a lot these days where you highjack a car, I really think the developers choose a bad name for the game. Since it's widly known as a gangster game rather than a car stealing game, but still you can still hijack the cars!

I'm just saying that Driver probably would have never introduced guns if GTA didn't come onto the scene, and seriously Driver PR was a huge GTA Clone, i mean there was floating Stars in teh Air just like GTA.

I think it would have, guns exist in real life and there great for destroying cars. So if anything it would be a life clone, cloning the game of life.

Yes, I agree PL copied some of the features that are avaible in GTA series.
The first thing they copied from GTA was getting away from the car in Driver2. I think they ruined Driver series when they started copying things from GTA. I remember when I was playing Driver1. It was very cool. Driver1 was original game based on action movies and it was great. After completing Driver1 story I was thinking about Driver2. I dreamed that it will be more realistic and even better game than Driver1 and look what they have done with it:(

Yeh but Driver 2 is okay, they are no guns. You only go out of the car to change your car, not to kill cops. I think D3R ruined the river Series, when they gave the player the possibillity to have guns.

I don't really see anyones problem with driv3r, it's way better than TrueCrime, both truecrime games are barely playable.

The handling is stiff and the cities feel horribly unrealistic.

But It was funny when the public voted the pc release in the top 100 and it reached 46th and the pc powerplay review only have it a 4.8 or something like that and the people who created the magazine don't know how the public really liked it.
