I don't anything against Hip-Hop or RAP; I like it :D
Although I don't think it's really a driver thing; I mean it's good to have a bit but not to much.

Anyways I really liked the way they handled the music in DRIV3R, I think they should do that with a bit more range like maybe 5 tracks for Miami - Dawn instead of 1 :D

I think reasonably soft rock is right for driver; similar to driv3r but perhaps more well known/with singing.

Everyone has different tastes, so i think that the tony hawk underground 2 way of letting you choose the genres you want to listen to is the way to go. i dont like radio stations like in gta because they tend to only be one style of music.

There's one thing i like a lot in GTA SA, you can put your own music, that would be awesome for Driver too

the mp3 station?? I've always thought every game should let you put in your own music. This is slightly of topic, but i've always found it really annoying how EA trax doesnt have an import feature!!!

Why don't they do it on PC as well :( ?!?! It can't be that hard. It sounds like PS3 will be like that as well.

Now as far as I know the "Reflections" team may not have worked on the PC version, as far I've been led to beleave that they had some group of people making a conversion from their files to a PC version. I'm not quite sure about that though.

But if they never created it and it was just an conversion, they may not have converted that feature.

[hr]

Now when I think about it, Microsoft may have released something in the Developers Kit which may have enabled Reflections to easily add this feature, since the Music feature on the XBOX is quite a big thing. And most xbox games have this importing feature. And most PC games don't, it shouldn't really be that hard to put in a PC version although they possibly didn't get to thinking about adding such a feature.

These are the songs I'd like to have in Driver 4:

Syntax - Pride (Begining)
Syntax - Pray (during a police chase)
The All-American Rejects - Drive Night (police chase)
Incubus - Drive (for the main menu)

You can listen to them on deezer[dot]com. Replace [dot] by a point.

:)

I think the music should be appropriate to the time that the game will be set. GTA games have music that was around at the time and I think that might be good for Driver. It all depends on what time the game will be set.

I think Driver Parallel Lines has the best soundtrack of all Drivers, and then Driv3r. I love the songs from 2006 in Driver Parallel Lines, and it's true, that the songs are the songs of that time. In 1978 people listened to funk, jazz,… and in 2006 to house, metal,…

My favourite music genre is house, i don't really like Rock, but they are some songs I like and when you think that Driver symoblizes the hollywwod police chase and that hollywood police chases are very dirty (example: Run the Gauntlet), rock will go better with it. But it would be could to have som house songs.

Another thing I think is that, in the Take A Ride mode, they shouldn't be any licensed songs (like in driv3r). Background music is better than real songs. Real songs would go better with Cutscenes.

Uh? I disagree?
Real songs go great in the game. Because the more you get into the song the better i find you drive. That's why i think songs by big black guys with deep unrecognisable voices who talk about Hoes and candy suck to drive to. Can you get into a rap song, can you sing along? not really no.

PS: is coyote an administrator now, cause i dodn't think public people could edit each others posts.

Coyote Coyote, we've had this converstaion before, there is no metal music in the 2006 era of Driver Parallel Lines. Just alot of bullsh** light rock, rap, and the aformentioned house.

Honestly though, maybe a purely instrumental/orchestral soundtrack should be used kind of like Driv3r, though it should sound more powerful and varied then the cheap porno soundalike that was in many of the D3 tracks.

Most likely though will get what is the norm today, a varied degree of licensed music that appeals to the wide audience. I always pray for some Iron Maiden though...

Punk
Emo
Jazz
Funl
Classical
Etc.
Something to suit every one right?

It would be nice but it won't happen, whatever the case though, never under any circumstance is there to be any emo music in a Driver game. NEVER. That sh*t is a disgrace, get rid of jazz and punk too.

If i get rid of it then there will no longer be something that appeals to everyone.

Okay, so there's no metal in DPL.

The problem is, in DPL, there's a lot of Jazz, fnnk and all that stuff, but I can't drive with that. My chases are full of action, drifts, crashes, and Jazz just doesn't fit with it.
That's why I turned the music off. And I also prefer to listen to the beautifull V8 of my car, then to this sh*t of Jazz and Funk.

Yeah i like to listen to the car sometimes too and i also turned off the music in my game. I recently bought the new Santana CD, if you like Santana or even if you don't it is great to drive to... except the jennifer lopez song.

Nah, Santana is a guitarist, Rock is the only category he would really fit into. He has a wide range of different songs though, because the genre also depends on who he is playing with (he often gets well known singers to do write a song and do vocals for his guitaring)
