Nice video, man. Many thanks.
Here, I'll say it up front so no one has to wonder if it would hurt my feelings (like that ever stopped anyone from saying something here). When it comes to gaming, I fail. I don't really know if that terminology is appropriate, actually, but I feel pretty sure my gaming setup would seem lame to a typical gamer, including my choice of what to play.
It is nice to read a bit of your banter about gaming. Your recent posts to this topic make me realize I am unable to remember how long it has been since I last played a game online or purchased a new video game. Measuring that in years now. Unexpected development. Regrettable.
The last few games I did buy were really old ones. I think the games these days look fantastic, but it is not a product of my PC's limitations so much as a personal preference that I like games that have a cartoon-like appearance. After things got to a certain visual quality that was new like six or seven years ago, that looked good enough for me and still does if the gameplay is to my liking. I really like the games that have gameplay recorders with editable camera views, such as Driver games, IL-2 games (WWII combat flight sim), old Star Wars flight sims, and various racing games.
I still like to jam on video games, though I have not done so more than twice a month for a long time -- on average probably even less often (like having 1.5 children or something, I suppose). I play the same old games I have for years, including Driver 2, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault with bots, IL-2 1946, NFS: High Stakes, Motocross Madness 2, and some others. DRIV3R. I miss playing coop mode with people.
I went to play a game this month and discovered my video card is messed up. It won't run games anymore. All I get is a monitor screen full of colorful boxes and lines arranged in vertical, horizontal, and diagonal patterns. I think the card is one called an AGP type or something, rather than PCI-E or whatever. I cannot afford a new PC anytime soon, so I guess I will get another one of these obsolete cards for the old rig I have (which requires the old kind of card and has very few PCI slots altogether) and a higher watt PSU to go in there, too. Hopefully, that will go well. I feel like flying a plane or racing a car or something.
I like to watch those gameplay videos at YouTube, but do not do so very often, I guess. It's nice to be able to see so many games I will never play myself. People write funny comments over there, don't they, then? I feel almost inconsiderate for lacking a proper sense of humor with which to fully appreciate the abundant generosity of so many witty people online. Oh, well.
Sedans, I cannot find it just now to comment in that topic, but I saw where you posted images of your new car here at DriverMadness.net. That is a very pretty car. So, what, you put that thing on the front end after you bought the car, then? That thing is cool, man. Push bars or whatever you called them. Nice pictures, though, buddy. Thank you for posting those to view. Really sharp looking car. Happy New Year, man. Good luck with those videos.
Harlequin, thank you for saying hello. Thank you very much. I hope you are doing all right and that you enjoy your new cook book. I have been wondering if you started getting tattoos. It seems like you once wrote here at DriverMadness.net that your father forbade you from doing so while still a minor, but you were going to get some once you turned 18. Personally, I would rather see a nice picture on the wall or a vase or something instead of on a person's skin, but there are a lot of pretty tattoos, I guess. Are you still experiencing the unusually hot weather conditions that you wrote had been present for such a long time in your area? Has that been accompanied by drought as well, then?
Regarding something I wrote recently in this topic:
I found a rough draft version of the Driver 2 Video Workshop post and replaced the lost content there. I guess it's not a very relevant topic, but there are some decent links, to be sure, and it probably looks better having something there instead of looking the way it did.
I don't think I had a final product version of the topic called Stories of New York: Possible Outcome 2 either, but all of the Miller posts in that thread are restored and there is only a small amount of editing left to do on the last page to finish with that.
I thought I would mention how that turned out, since I brought it up a couple weeks ago and said I would try to fix it. Like I wrote before, I am sorry I did not know that you were missing content there that I could help restore.
Hello to The Kid [Fr] from Driver-Dimension.com. That is ironic when some person who knows more than one language makes a polite apology for not having the best skills with a language he or she uses better than quite a lot of those for whom it is a native tongue. It seems like there is so much clever innovation in the popular use of language that some of the time it is easier to understand a foreigner using plain vanilla English than it is to understand one's own countryman. You seem like a genuine Driver fan.
Thanks to those who wrote pleasant greetings. I appreciate it.
Happy New Year, DMC. Take care of yourselves.
