yeah, the smilies at the moment are way to large for the standard text size you can see that smile is too large for this text.

The smiley has always annoyed me. Like sedans said, you can only really tell what it is when you type it in. People who have never used it before may think it is just a big grin smiley.

You can use the "Disable Smilies in this post" option and it removed smilies from your post.
