See ya, sir.

Even though I don't follow soccer in the least, it seems I have an understanding of what's going on simply by being a member of communities.

Also, who wants a song made about them? No singing, btw.

Miller wrote:So, the US tied it up at 1 to 1 in their match against Ghana with a penalty kick. Mick Jagger -- honorary American, as the commentators put it -- is looking pleased and excited as he wields his trusty camera in the spectator stands. We are going into extra time. There was not even a foul -- just more theatrics. Oh, too bad. Now Ghana has come right back with a second goal against the American team. Take that, you cheaters. LOL!

Oh, nice. Now we have a player from Ghana actually pulling on the shorts of the American player and all but mauling the guy as he drives for the goal. Man, that was in the box. What are they doing, making the guy take his free kick from there? Maybe they are trying to make up for the one the USA did not deserve the first time.

Oh, well. It looks like Harlequin was right about the USA not passing the 16.

Thunderstorm. Power fluctuations. Lions, tigers, and bears. OH, MY! (Wizard of Oz) I am out of here. Gotta shut her down. Actually this PC is a him, named Blackie. See you, DMC. Have a nice weekend and be good.
Well, that stinks. I thought we actually had a chance against Ghana.

Oh, and Miller, you're not the only one. I actually think my computer is a guy, too. Well, my desktop unit, anyways. I think my laptop is a gal.

Personally, I'd rather be viewing DM with a Q Siren going off right next to my ear than with all those vuvuzelas going off, but that is a pretty funny application!

Yeah, those things were blasting rather continuously, man. People get into it. LOL I probably should not have been dividing my attention between that soccer match and reading here. I do not make much sense as it is.

I do not watch much in the way of sports, especially cheater -- I mean, "team" sports. But I decided to yesterday (Saturday). After watching people trying to pull off each others' shorts in Africa, I switched over to to Wimbledon and watched Raphael Nadal pulling on his own shorts for a while. Ew. Why do they have to place the camera right behind the dude when he is doing that while receiving serve? LOL I guess it works for the chicks.

Your laptop is a girl. Is there a joke in thee somewhere having to do with lap dances? LOL I have one of each, too, Wheelman75. The girl is named Lucy. Too bad she and Blackie cannot get together and have a litter of current generation PCs. LOL

Lucy is grey and Blackie...well, you can probably guess what color he is. These PCs were named after some toys I used to play with as a boy.

My father was born in the 1930s, and during the 1940s, when Lionel (model train company) first introduced steam locomotives that made smoke, my grandfather got one for his children to play with. It was a 2-6-0 configuration. (That refers to the number of wheels: lead wheels on the front (pony truck), the big drive wheels, and any of the smaller ones that might be required behind that on the back end of the thing...or something like that.) That same steam locomotive, Blackie, was still there in the house and running throughout my childhood, though the gears finally started to slip some. It was awesome, solid metal. It was so heavy.

Lucy was a grey piece that came out in the 1950s. She was a heavy model, too, and she was still around during my time with my family, and both she and Blackie were passed on to my nephews. Toys that last, man. Everyone knows what a steam engine looks like. Here is what Lucy looked like. The inside was lighted.

No. No it doesn't. I love Nadal (I hate tennis though. Boring as hell) but hate when they put the camera right behind him as he pulls his shorts out. It's disturbing.

The vuvuzelas drove me insane. I listened to the football when I was at work (at three in the morning. Grr) and it was bad enough without that horrible noise (we have a carpark right about the store. It causes a lot of static) but the buzzing just drove me insane.

Finally, no offence to any of you guys, but the US had a pretty easy group. We got stuck with Germany and Serbia... F**king Germans. No offence, again. Kind of dismayed that the same team thrashed both of mine :( (But they totally cheated. That was so a goal.)
But really, Ghana came out of nowhere (with help from the referees who can't tell the difference between a handball where an individual's arm is still at his side and an arm being thrust out to touch the ball...). Third African team in history to make it into round of sixteen, and they actually get to continue on.
I'll be honest though, I didn't see the US-Ghana match. I had better things to do, and I knew who would win anyway.

That's what I'm talking about, though. So many times the ref just ignored blatant fouls, or gave them out when nothing had happened. The Aus-Ghana match was messed up too. There were two (i think) fouls against Australia that really shouldn't have been fouls, but when they were dragging Australian players back by the strip, nothing happened! But as a dedicated Australian, Kewell and Cahill shouldn't have been red-carded. Especially not Cahill. That was just messed up.
*Rant over.
Yesterday I bought something old (because despite my awesome job, I still don't have much money) and am waiting on a few games. What's the best games on the (old school) gameboy advance? :P

I posted this here to help jumpstart my career a little more. Reposting this more should help.

You mean that song by Daft Punk? It sounds like it's been sampled from some 80's electro funk tune, but I don't know which one. Maybe it wasn't sampled at all...

Apparently, it was sampled. The original is called "Get it Up for Love".

LOL Hey, we know you like to dress up your boyfriend in Spiderman pajamas and stuff. Are you sure you do not also order him into a pair of clam diggers, and then tell him to take a wide stance and start digging? Just kidding, man. That is a bit of stretch, is it not, Decepticon accessories to superhero costumes?

I feel reluctant to let a girl dress me. I think I am afraid something like this will happen again.

There, now the DMC knows what I look like. Not good enough? Okay, thanks to the wonder that is age-progression technology, we can see what I currently resemble. Hey, click this hyperlink thing, man.

You know, those sports commentators like to lavish the praise on the superheros of tennis. You hear them talking about how mature and gracious those players are. Sure, how difficult is that when you win almost every match you play? When those same characters start losing, you see them spiking the racquet, swearing like sailors, and badmouthing the referees. It seems to me the mesaure of sportsmanship is in how well one loses, not how well one wins.

I kind of like that Andy Rossick guy's attitude. Usually, he just plays the game, win or lose, without acting like a spoiled sport. And during those post-match interviews, he is pretty matter-of-fact about things, without blowing a cloud of smoke. Here is an eample of what I mean by that. I will have to paraphrase the interviewer's part -- they are so wordy. (Don't you just hate people like that?)

Interviewer: Andy, you played so well, but things just didn't quite turn out the way you would have liked. Tell us what happened out there today.
Roddick: He played better, so I lost.
Interviewer: Bla,bla, bla, bla, bla. So, tell us, then. What is your next move?
Roddick: Go get drunk.

You can see how easily this guy might be upstaged. Here is what I mean by that.
