Speaking of totally awesome/lame music, y'all in the states might have heard of an Australian singer named Kate Miller-Heidke? She does a cover of Britney Spears' 'Toxic' that is the most awesome version you'll ever hear...
But I can't be assed looking for that either, so instead, I give you one of my favourites. If it's too dirty for the rules, then delete the post.
And apparently their folk? That's how they described themselves when they came to Aus...
(P.S. Still pissy at the Canadian who stole Dale Begg-Smith's gold! He should have won, damn it!!!)

They were quite proud of it. If I could be assed, I'd go find the interview and check, but... Well, I'm sick and cbf.

It's only missing Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and power metal bands to complete the torture.I love Linkin Park, and I don't mind MCR... I got crushed in their mosh though... It was embarrassing... Only pit I've ever had to be taken out of, and I saw NIN and Alice in Chains last year... And I guess I came close with Green Day, but fractured ribs would have been worth it.

Miller wrote:It's no matter. I had a girlfriend (in the 'just friends' category) who wouldn't tell her boyfriend that she was bi, because he was homophobic... When she broke up with him, she told him. He freaked out that he never got her to do anything with a girl in front of him.Harlequin wrote:Yeah, I don't watch too many film clips anymore... I watch all the Linkin Park ones, and other bands I like I'll watch, but for the most part, they sh*t me... Mainly because parents b*t*h about how television is bad for kids, and we shouldn't show things like two girls kissing, but they're happy to sit their kids in front of Channel V or MTV (when it plays music videos for that short hour...) when most of that stuff is about 50 times worse...Not at all, man. Rant away. I do not mind that sort of thing; complaining, bitching, ranting, or whatever. Unless it does not make any sense, that is. For example, I was telling Sedans one time about this guy I knew who said he hated people who complain. Too bad it was not a joke. Then it would have been funny instead of just plain hypocritical and stupid (two things I am familiar with, being one or the other -- if not both, quite a lot of the time).
Sorry. Ranting.
I have about had it with watching anything on television or online that includes commercials, not because the commercials are too much (some are funny, and I like them), but because they are simply too loud much of the time. I think it messes up my speakers, man.
Um...okay, I guess I must be honest again here now that I consider something after reading that bit of your post, Harlequin. I tried to tell myself I was the modern version of old-fashioned because two girls kissing does not bother me, but two dudes kissing does bother me. I guess I am really a male chauvinist pig.
Miller wrote:The Cave? I like it too. I seem to see it whenever I turn on the tv though. Lol. It's getting a bit irritating now. I bought half of their album. It's all pretty nifty.Harlequin wrote:But Mumford and Sons don't use anything extravagant in their clips... I guess that's one advantage of being a folk bandIs that what that is, folk music? I really liked the video with the scooters and the dudes they gave their instruments to while they went for a ride. Very nice video for me. Simple yet clever, and unoffensive.![]()
