Guns aren't banned...You just need a licence...Its easier to get a gun in Australia than it is to get a blade, like a machete or something...
In a couple of weeks, we're going to be having a gun trade show or something in SA, so I'm pretty sure we have no issues with guns...

Which reminds me, I think we have a demolition thing this weekend bb...Monster trucks and whatnot...I'm not a big demolition derby person, so excuse my 'and whatnot's...lol...

Guns here are 'partially" banned. You can have a gun, if you have a license. the funniest is that the drug dealers here have more powerful guns than the army.

They did this for that very reason.
I'm a little angry, because it's still illegal to own a nearly harm-less air-soft gun. There spring loaded and look so real. I would like to have used them in some video projects a while ago.

There awsome, they look like the real thing.
They fire like the real thing, except for the bullet.
If I want a bullet I have to edit that in with After Effects and 3d Max.

I think its pretty stupid though. To get a gun licence, you need to be over 18 and not have a criminal record. To get a bladed weapon, you need to have a psychologic evaluation, be over 18, have a clean criminal record and all this other stuff...Its far easier to kill with a gun than a blade...Gosh! I don't like guns though...Pacifist and all...

And I don't like the monster truck stuff...Loud noises freak me out...Unless its music...Bass and whatnot...
Plus it pollutes the earth...

Someone I knew owned a fairly large collections of guns, he often goes to a gun club. He spends so much time drinking and I belieave he assulted someone and lost his license.

Apparently he spends a lot of his time drunk, it's amazing that the authorities don't pay much attention to this behavior. But I guess they cannot watch everyone with a gun.

I also know of someone else whos allowed to use his gun as long as he alerts the negbours prior to use it. This person lives in the outback and uses it to hunt away foxes and anything that could affect thier stock.

I also herd that it's illegal to have a silencer.
If your cought having one, you could proably seek jail time.

I also cannot belieave that almost anyone in the US can get hold of a gun. I've herd a lot of stories about people being shot over there.

There are lots of other vehicles that polute the earth mucu more than Monster Trucks, the biggest offender is probally aircraft. But what about all the vehicles on the streets. Cannot wait until we all drive Hybird cars, Or even better everyone uses public transport and get exercise.

To survive we all care about money, business, ect.
Therefore were always in a rush and we all drive our own vehicles, gain weight in the process of being lazy. What happened to the good old days when their were horses powering everything.

and you don't have to be a hippy to be concered about the enviroment.
Last time I checked the hippyies spend all their time driving in the hippy van (secret vehicle in Nice {DRIV3R}).

Coyote wrote:Haha I love those kind of things. I remember once the Stuntman took me with him on the Monster Truck
Lucky you!
Although, I don't think I'm a very big fan of Monster Truck events.
However it would be nice experience what it's like in those large vehicles.
I'd still proably perfer Demolition Derby type events.

But my first perference.

Planes do pollute more madness, but considering that they are used far less than cars, i think its safe to continue flying...Lol!
I don't drive anyway. I walk or use public transportation...Mainly because I have no money, and no money=no licence=no car...Lol! But also because if I was getting a car, I'd want a hybrid...And they can be a little pricey...Lol!

I used to live across the road from a farm...It happened to be the farm of the grandparents at my school, but whatever...They used to shoot foxes and hares and stuff...And once again, being the type of person I am, I disagree with causing the unnecessary death of animals. I hate guns though...Too bad I have to learn to use one, ay? Lol!

I've never been to a monster truck or demolition derby thing...I've seen the stunt people...The Crusty Demons I think....A few years back they did some thing at the Big Day Out...But not my type of thing...I like sports that make sense :D

I don't give a crap about hybrid cars. Those things are really ugly, specially the Toyota Prius. It's better they start making cars that use the brazilian sugar cane Ethanol. It's better than the american one (that uses corn) and it's better to the air and etc.

Monsters Trucks... Destructions derby...? I've never seen in my life. The maximun car related stuff that I've seen was a showroom of old cars.

I've travelled the world, and I have to say, I haven't been anywhere half as nice as Adelaide...But our weather is far from mild. It's the middle of spring, and it was 34 degrees today...Yuck...We have 12 degree days in winter, and a max of 45 degree days in summer...Wacky weather methinks.
I don't know why we aren't disgustingly humid though. So many places situated as close to the sea as Adelaide end up with humid days...Maybe it has something to do with the bite? Hmm...Should research it! Lol!

Apparently we are the murder capital of Australia...Personally, I think those stats come from way back with the bodies in the barrells thing, but...Yeah...Population wise, four shootings in a two km radius is pretty massive...That's not counting stabbings or other shootings is it bb? That's just around Hindley...AKA where I spent most of my fridays when I was 15...Lol! It's only dangerous if you're a bikie or a druggie though...

I know how your sister in law felt with their dog too...My old cat Boris was poisoned...I cried for weeks, and then got Timmy...Who was hit by a car...So sad...But that farm I was talking about caused the death of a couple of cats on our street. They were perfectly happy shooting these gorgeous foxes and hares, but would never do anything about the brown snakes that lived in the grass on their farm. Keeping in mind though, that they didn't have chickens, so the foxes weren't a danger to them or anything...Savages...Anyway, those snakes killed my kitten, another neighbour's cats, plural, and masses of birds in the area. It was devestating. Thankfully, now all I have to worry about are crows the size of a hawk and cars for my baby...Lol!
I tend to hate people that kill without cause...I think its sad...Especially those who kill believing that the animal is a pest or whatever. That fox that lived on their farm never attacked anything bigger that a cockatoo...And those are far more irritating than a cute little fox...That would probably rip my face off given a chance... :)
I rambled! Yay!
But although I have to learn to use a gun, I don't think I ever would...How often does a chef have to fire a gun in the military? I don't think it would be the most common occurance, thankfully...

Our public transport system is one of the best in the world, but so few South Australian's actually know this. We have a bus track, the O-Bahn, which gets from the northern suburbs into the city in I think 15 to 20 minutes...Considering that in a car it can take almost three times as long, it's pretty decent. We have trams and free buses throughout the CBD, and trains that reach the outskirts of inhabited areas, and farmland to the northeast, so no-one can ever actually say "It's impossible for me to get into town."

Comparitively, though, we are a tiny state. Last I checked, I think we only had two million people. Out of twenty. Sweet. I like it though. SA is big in size, so there's no reason to feel squashed in like in the bigger cities (one of the main reasons I hate Brisbane). It's beautiful too. When the planning for Adelaide was being done, areas were sectioned off specifically for parks, so you look at photo's of Adelaide, and you see these large, green areas. It's pretty amazing. Some of the trees in these parks are older than most of the buildings in Adelaide.
Keeping in mind that we are one of the younger states, that's not really that old though!
Supposedly, our churches are something to love, but I never really got that...Sure, St Paul's Cathedral is awesome, and despite my not being catholic, I've always imagined the typical girl wedding in this cathedral. But it's something you have to see and go to mass in to understand.
But yeah...I don't really get big cities...People say that Paris and Barcelona and Rome are amazing, but that's because they've had the chance for the entire world to see them, and fall in love with them. People haven't been able to fall in love with Adelaide yet, because we're only 150 years old! Lol!
Screw big cities for holidays...Come to Adelaide!

But I hope you come back soon Miller! You're fun to talk to, and you don't make me feel like I write too much!

But bb is right...Australian sugar cane is awesome...Not grown in SA though...Go drink a bottle of Wolf Blass or Jacob's Creek, then have some sugar cane...Lol!

Yeah, I wished it was like that here.
In Sydney they have a fairly good but still expensive system.
They've split the city up into zones and you can buy a ticket for the zones you intend to travel to. One ticket usually covers unlimited bus, train, ferry usage as long as there in that zone.

A weekly adult pass to and from typical central suburban areas costs about $16. I remember looking at the most expensive ticket for all areas for an entire year and it costs around $2000. (You'd hate to loose that ticket).

You can find out more information from this website
http://www.sydneybuses.info/tickets/com ... elpass.htm

Alternatively when you hop on a bus you can say your destination and they charge you by the distance the bus travels, so lets say I wanted to go from CBD to chatswood it'll cost me about 60 cents and we've traveled 5km (Actually I cannot remember were I traveled it was only about a 10 minute ride though).

Otherwise you can get a daily ticket, never worried about getting one though, I mainly live on Weekly passes.

It's also fairly good because the train network expands further than the blue-mountains which is about a 2 hours-express journey.

Overall I think the transport system is fairly good in Sydney, but could be cheaper of course. I kind of wish they would add a 40% fee on petrol and registration on vehicles to lower the amount of pollution caused by vehicles on the streets so everyone can share public transport.

That 40% increase should go towards making the public transport system free  .

Actually it was on the parade not hindley street (which is the stripper bar area of Adelaide) and about the barrel murders, they are some the gruesome murders in the world! and are still unsolved. and no it wasn't counting other shootings.

harlequin it is illegal in Australia to kill snakes, anyone caught killing them can receive huge fines and go to prison.

we have over 700 bus tram and train routes throughout Adelaide.
Here the public transports are almost free. Each month I buy like a card for some
