Replaces the "Durty Burger" in Manhattan with a "Wendy's". A version for 1978 is planned. Enjoy!

There are a few mods I created like "No HUD" and the NYPD Police Car Skin. But they aren't finished yet. You'll find them at the modding board.

I forgot - a little video showing the mod at night:

Something to play around with but seems pointless, just changing a texture within the game. Sure it's something but when we think about it all isn't that much.

Sadly for me the TexMod program is incompatible with my system so I'm unable to make these textures as good as I can only do this with the .dds ripper.

In the future I plan to get into memory hacking a lot more and I'm sure we can achieve something there.

Although the idea of changing one texture seems very pointless, at least it's something!

I can get TexMod half working with driv3r so hopefully I might change lots of the textures within the game!

It's better than nothing. ;) Sure, we all want more - new car models, new maps, new missions etc. But it isn't possible yet, so I will concentrate on texture editing. We need some good mods here to attract new people interesting in modding stuff to get the tools we need for modding. We must show them what is possible and that these little mods also can make the game a lot more interesting. The GTA community also startet with some easy texture mods (new ads around the city, a McDonalds in Liberty City, and so on...).

Anyway, I didn't use TexMod, but the tool by SparedLife. TexMod isn't all that good as I thought. I work with DXTbmp for opening the .dds with alpha texture, Adobe Photoshop for editing, and SL Converter for importing (exporting) the textures. I'm going to write a tutorial (in German and English). Hopefully there will be some new mods in the future. :)

That means you can take, let's say the Nokia logos from D3R and put them into DPL ?

question 1: how did you turned the camera?
question 2: how did you managed to play rammstein :D did you just put it after the game or is it possible to add custom tracks in parallel lines

1. When you are in a car, press the mouse wheel and move the mouse to change the camera angle.

2. No, the song came from my Windows Media Player in the background. Just turn off the ingame music.

I'm pretty sure JAY will be, there is no point stopping there!

Soon when this busy time of the year passes by for me I will start making mods for Driver: Parallel Lines again and last week I started creating some video tutorials, I'll hopefully finish them and get them out soon. So you can learn how to make these mods.

We can only edit the textures for the moment.

Hey, what about making new Police Cars and Taxis ? You know, new colors, new symbols, you know you've already made that with the Planet-Driver Torrex and the original NYPD M700. But you could mak it better ! What about making a Torrex Pizza car or a M700 ARBÖ vehicle ?

I began with a NYPD Police Car Skin, but didn't finish it yet. I try to do that first so that I can release it.

Yeh a mod for the Zartex would be great =) A Zartex firecar, Zartex towing service, Zartex FBI, Zartex taxi would be cool, but isn't possible... Zartex ambulance, Zartex ogininal 78 NYPD, etc :P

We could turn it into an Ambulance, because it's already got the sirens on it. It'll just be the police siren on an ambulance, if your interested it'll probably be possible.

Rather than hijacking this thread and changing it's purpose, it'll be a better idea if you request a mod by making a new thread for your request and I'll get to it if I get the time.

If I don't get the time, then JAY or maybe even DOC could be interested in making it for you!

Nice to know we have a few additional people into modding.

I also hope "Emagdnim" gets into modding the game.

Anyways, I've taken a look at the installation method of Wendy's Burger Mod and if your interested "JAY" I might be able to make the installation simpler for you, something I'm planning to use with the Massive Texture Mod, If your interested I can see if I can make it install your Wendy mod at ease inserting the .dds files automatically and having a backup to restore the original ones.

Just tell me if your interested, then I'll try it send it to you if your interested. Then you can test it and if it works you can try it yourself.

The original NYPD cars were dark green, black & white up until 1973 when this was changed for the infamous blue & white. The lightbar model on the Zartex is a very good likeness to the real lightbar used in the late 70's by the NYPD & a blue & white NYPD paintjob would make the car look excellent. More info about the NYPD's cars can be found at the address below;

Anywho, as madness said this is getting a little off topic

Yes this is true. Soemthing like one in most blocks and even three in others. it amazing so maybe mcd's instead of wendy's would make sense.

Yeh, instead of making a Wendy's JAY should have made a Burger King or a McDonald's :?
