CAR COLORS FIX!

Well, looks like I've somehow managed to fix the colors! No more will you see the same boring, plain, and just flatout ugly colors, and the secret cars of Miami spawn in the correct colors (as seen on the PS2) version.
This fix gives the traffic cars a much more colorful palette, resembling that of the PS2 version. Thorough testing has revealed that more than 80% - 95% of the PS2 version colors will now spawn, as opposed to the XBOX/PC version's 15% - 25% of the colors. And to think, all it takes to fix this is one simple hex edit...
To fix the car colors, simply open "Driv3r.exe" with your favorite hex editor (
here's mine) and, depending on your game version, navigate to the following line(s):
NOTE: If neither of those addresses work for you, please send me a PM!
V1 (Default):
0x10B016
V2 (America Update 2):
0x1275E3
Your cursor should land on "07" as part of this piece of code:
Change "07" to "0F", with the piece of code now looking like this:
Enjoy!

Really? Now do we have colors from the PS2 version too?
In any case, I really appreciate your works on this game and things in general, and that's why I joined this forum.
Now I need 10 cop cars chasing me at the same time :v

It's still not all the colors, but we have 80 percent as opposed to PC's 20 percent of colors now.

What I meant by "ugly colors" was how the cars used to have a very limited color palette, so you'd only see colors like black, brown, blue, green...just boring, plain colors that you get sick of seeing after awhile. This increases the amount of paintjobs that show up per car, and yes, the "ugly colors" still spawn, just not as often as you'd want them to. Colorful is always good!
If you need help patching your game please let me know.

Yes, we have the colors from the PS2 version now! And wow, I had no idea you joined because of my work towards this game. That's the kind of motivation I need to get stuff done
As for 10 cop cars chasing after you, I'm sure something will pop up

The best hex editor in existence:

Simple and easy to use. Nothing quite like it. And it's FREE!

Or, well, I found the trick to get orange V8s to spawn, and in turn, orange Hunter 313Ts. Drive a devil red V8 and orange/yellow Firebirds will spawn. It's not like PS2 where they'll just spawn randomly. Probably some weird memory bug with the PC port of Driv3r.

I really blame Atari for rushing things out. Driv3r could have been the best game ever.

Ahh rushed or not, Driv3r will always be the best game ever for me, just had something to it that clicked with me and now all the bugs and stuff have grown on me, it wouldn't be driv3r without them hahaha. Its good that this small forum are still modding it because it just makes it better
