Modding discussion for DRIV3R.
#48373
Greetings.

As you know, DRIV3R doesn't have different police cars AI so the game is restricted to 2 police cars on every chase.
Is there a way to increase the limitation for both Take a Ride and Survival? I wish for 10 cops to come after me Blues Brothers style :D
Any help would be really appreciated.

Nethertheless, it would be quite neat.
Yeah, it's too bad since all the cops try to follow your EXACT path like you are playing Driver SF multiplayer chasing the Delorean, and you see them like "I got his path!" "No! His path is mine, go away!" while keeping your exact same speed as well. I dislike the cops AI of Driver 2 and 3 because of this. I just wish for smarter cops.

It's entirely possible, someone just needs to dedicate some time to this particular project. It'd be pretty cool to see tons of rubberband cops chasing after you...lol

Indeed, I really wish for things like that in-game.

If you've got some news, post here (Y)

Is someone working on it?
Sorry to bother you, Driv3r is boring with just one-two police cars

I got another thing to ask but I don't want to make another thread. So is it possible to actually remove the on-foot shooting cops in survival mode?

Removing on-foot cops are probably possible, I've made the cops just stand around before by removing random bits of code (as in replacing the code with 00's).

But to increase the amount of cops, I'm not sure. I have no idea if DRIV3R has it hard coded or if it's a simple number in the mission files, lol.

You mean using hex-editor? I might give that a try and experiment something.

Yeah. I must stress though that you cannot expect to literally remove random bits of code and expect the game not to crash. Such as for example, I removed the "Wire Collection" portion of a mission file, and all events ceased. No secret car spawns, no cop behavior, etc.

I was messing around earlier with Cheat Engine and...accomplished absolutely nothing. This is VERY difficult, I tell you 'hwat.

It not easy+ it's time consuming and tediousness to the max. Only time I did it in Driv3r the settings where stuck on hteir lowest configuration and the game had a volume level of roughly 2 million (max number on 32 bit integer). Was a couple of years ago when I tried to unlock the cheats, PC version never unlocks them without modding.
