Couldn't help but post this here. I finally understand the file formats enough to modify a VVV file to import any car from the game. I have only done one so far, but there's the possibility for more. I also increased the texture size for one of the textures to 256 X 256, which may or may not be noticeable.
This is just a taste of how modifying will work when more is understood so an interface can be created. The challenger replaces the Mustang in Miami.
Tomorrow I will go for the big one - 2048 X 2048. That will be a turning point for sure
EDIT: I just realized that the textures seem to be "dumbed down" in game. I wonder if I can fix that.
UPDATE: Alright, fixed it within 5 minutes. This is why you should always check your work, ladies and gentlemen. I'm surprised DRIV3R actually checks for the size before reading it from the DDS itself...lol.
Here's the old picture without the HD awesomeness..
Since realizing my size/checksum error, I went back and fixed my 512 X 512 entry - doesn't look too shabby now! (Texture wasn't modified like the 1024 version was, btw)
Can't say the same for the 256 X 256 entry....*pukes*

Are you going to make a guide on how to do this? Also are there any .fbx files for the Driver 3 car models usable in Maya?

Hi Ratchet, I made changes to the files manually as I am in the tedious process of decoding the model format. As for .FBX files of the DRIV3R car models, I am not sure how that might work. I have written a full-fledged viewer that is _still_ being worked on in MaxScript that has the capability to rip an entire model along with its pieces out.
Out of respect for Reflections and their team, I will not be releasing any "vehicle packs" that are basically .FBX/.OBJ/.MAX files of any of the DRIV3R cars. There will be a tool that will allow users to do this at their own discretion.
With great things comes great responsibility. And great things must wait. So I ask everyone to be patient and keep up the excitement for this tedious project, going on 2 (almost 3) weeks of constant work!
That's really nice, thanks!
But in that file the police car is replaced by the taxi

Honestly, as long as I'm able to obtain them by myself that would be great.

Nice CarLuver69 LOOKS AWESOME, all these mods for driv3r on pc I NEED TO GET IT QUICK, only have the ps2 version
That's really nice, thanks!

Indeed, the reason being the police car was originally inside of the VVV file, but I modified the VVV file to contain only one vehicle so I would be able to test vehicle mods without ruining the rest of the cars

I'm confused, what does this do? Does this mean you can import any car into Driver 3? I see that there's some differences between both Challengers, but I think I don't get it.

If you delete a miami.vvv, nice.vvv and istanbul.vvv, then the police will use a random civilian vehicles. It looks pretty funny
