Using new cars for missions

Well as you can see I am a newbie to your fine forums. But I recently found that you can edit the car you can drive for every mission. This can be fun and easy. I have compiled a list of 16 cars that you can drive in Driver.
First open up you scripts folder, than open the mission folder.
Go to mission 46 for now. Open it up with notepad.
Now scroll down to steplayer car. Change the zero with any number between 0 and 17. Unfortianatly 15 crashes the game. Now in Miami free ride you will have a different car. Have fun!\
I hope this isnt to old. Sorry if this has been posted before.

Hello and welcome to Driver Madness, "silvermanblue".
This has been done before, infact many amazing things have been done within the code of Driver.
Theres a couple of programs which help you modify the code, try trying these out.
http://www.downloads.drivermadness.net/ ... esetup.exe
http://www.downloads.drivermadness.net/ ... urator.zip
http://www.downloads.drivermadness.net/ ... ion110.zip (for demo version of Driver)
http://www.downloads.drivermadness.net/ ... ion207.zip (full version only)
Most of these programs allow you to edit or make your own mission scripts, it's quite fun and is worth a try. These programs have a fairly good User Interface and there worth looking into if your interested in the modding scene.

Thanks

. I am actually trying to see if traffic vehicles can be driven.
Thats what I have been trying to do. And maybe find that mysterious Yellow and Black car from the beta pics. Maybe I can add some replay to this old game!

No, it's not possible to use the traffic cars. Probably because they're in a different file in a way that they can't be used. Same as the Yellow car. Well, probably this car maybe hidden in the game files, but we wound need someone that know a lot about game programming.
Anyways, welcome to the site

I am actually thinking that all the cars may be stored in the level files.
So it would probably take a good amount of coding to get the traffic cars to work. Could you imagine if we could get a Driver developer kit. Well I am off to do some more research.

On YouTube, there is a mod for Driver called "Civ Car Edition". It goes right on top of the original Driver installation directory and makes all the cars that you drive some kind of traffic vehicle. It crashes often though and has many glitches.
