I m working on this car.
This one is a humble one because my time is limited.
I want to work on a dodge callenger 1971 later...
Here is the progress in Blender.
I slightly modify my workflow each time.
Soon I want to make a complete tutorial on modelling and exporting custom vehicules in driver.

I want to make sure you understand that with the Driver Car Importer, you have much more room to work with in regards to the number of vertices/polygons. I'd safely say you can do about 800 - 1,000 vertices no problem. I'm not sure if 2,000 is pushing it, but it sounds possible. Maybe even some more! But the 260 vertex limit is non-existent with the vertex patch that comes with DCI!

I want to work on a dodge challenger 1971 later...
If you can find some decent pictures to use for textures, let me know. The model I'm using is fine, but the textures are really dragging it down.
I'm looking forward to seeing your new car

My one had engine with capacity 1.4 l (about 88... cubic inches in USA?). 60 hp and 750 kg of mass

It was the rocket queen!
I'm waiting for your model, benflex, it will be amazing as always. You have very big skills in verticles managing.

In Europe, especially Eastern Europe, there are compact cars. They must have big economy, because ratio earnings/fuel prices is very small.
The smallest Polish car has 0.6 litre of engine capacity. It was Polish Fiat 126p - car on the Italian Fiat license.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am happy that so many people know about this car.
Here is some progress.
@ someone972 : if you can indicate me or scan some accurate blueprint, it makes the modelling easier.

I just got the model online somewhere, I think it may actually have been for another game, but I can't be certain. Sorry I can't be much help.

Benflex I have started model of R5 in blender. It is made on GTI blueprints, and I made Campus front bumper, however... If you are interested, I can send it to you.

I think you have a little bit chaotic hi-poly grid modelling. Rear plate place (in the rear door) is much too wide.
I send you my .blend files (don't care about filenames

) and rar archive with blueprints (for GTT version, I modelled a Campus) and reference photos.

@ Clutch thanks very much for sharing your sources and your remarks. I will check the rear plate, it seems very large.
Yes it is a bit messy if you look closely
Your model is very accurate, will you add the graffiti on the car?
I noticed that there is a strange artifact on your model:
I get this problem when i work on solid high poly. I use
LoopTools to fix it. It can flatten a array of vertices.

You are welcome

I know about the artifact. I corrected it a little bit some time ago after uploading these files to you.

For now the project is suspended. Maybe sone day I'll finish it, but now I haven't enough time.
I planned to make it look like at the photography.
Your model is very accurate
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it
