Wheel Editing Problem

Hi
I have some problem. I tried to make better wheels. I'm not good in making new wheels, so I thought, I convert GTA VC wheels.
Ok, I got the model, I mapped it, made new texture, and what? Look:
There is testing texture:
There aren't any red plane in the wheel model! In the lev file too. It appears from nowhere and rotates while driving. It appears only on the left side of wheel.
The wheel model appears (second screen), but it doesn't rotate at all.
In the Milkshape I import the wheel from obj (from Blender) and I have 2 groups. I regroup them into one group, rename to " " and scale. Materials are named properly.
I haven't no clue, what the...

Send me a PM with the model and textures, I can try to fix this.

Do you even know what does it mean - "mapped"?...
RF, check it out.

Paul, it was better to not write this, j/k.
I just checked it, and tested:

I think I may fix it, just needs wheel model modification, I think. Don`t worry, these custom wheels will be completed

If you will finish them, maybe write tutorial?

Of course! That`s why I`m tutorial writer
I plan make the most complete "Driver Modifying: For Dummies" documentation, but that will take lotta time to complete.
Back on, I dunno have the time right now, but for sure I will let the DAMWHEEL and FASTWHEEL models working properly. I`ll write the progress coming, here.

Wow, I'm surprised you guys even got this stuff working. Wheel importing works much differently which is why Clutch's wheels came out horrible. I wish Jeff would hurry up with this damn importer...

Sorry about the delay in progress, work and school have slowed me down to a near halt lately. The wheels are fixed in the vertex fix, which is another reason why I need to finish up that importer. You can actually use new wheels now, it just requires making a certain file with the model name in it. Why wheels don't work right is because driver only rotated the outer two triangles to give it the illusion that the whole wheel was moving. This made it so the square in the middle did not move, but makes it so new wheels are stationary except for the old outer 4 verticies.

Yay, Jeff! Thanks for that, so you say we may fix this with using the vertex fix like you said? I`ll try.

In order for it to use the new wheel model you have to specify the model name in a file called miami.wdf frisco.wdf etc. I'll try and get you a sample file or a simple program (dos console) to change it.

RF, you mean you didn't know about this mechanism?
Btw, the fix doesn't work on my version - it causes language file errors and crashes on startup of the level.

Ya, I actually knew a little bit about it, but didn`t looked deeper into using it. No high poly models importer = no job for the vertex fix.

Cool. Cant wait for that vertex fix. Yes, I know what UV mapping is. I've modeled for over 5 years....

So I don't know, what was that, this post before

It was mapped, but I made test bitmap for checking, which part uses this strange plane.
