I already beat it into you. Featuring 'updated' default Driver carmodels, this will be a another replacement mod. Currently put it aside, but showing what Driver fans will enjoy later on:

They`re untextured yet, because the iPhone porters decided to link their textures off .lev files, but that left level files modified with model data only. They also did new CLEANWHEEL model and another stuff, which will be included in this fine port of Driver iPhone. I think, I could also use all the Driver files that are found, just like missions, config files, etc. Easiest to do is just replace .lev files, but I want to have textured models, before that.

ok, it looks awesome, but man, concentrate on your main project now, it is for next perspectives. Finish current work. It is my personal tip :P

I would agree. Don`t worry, I`ll make them with Driver original textures and modified models (I`ll remove interiors, but made them Driver style). But further progress, later on, I have Driver PC BETA and Driver PSX BETA projects ahead ;)

I`ll give the textures to Someone972 later. I had no luck opening them, because they have been linked off .lev files and as stand-alone texture patch for these models. I chose manually UV mapping them later, as using original Driver textures as for better result (iPhone textures looked ugly to me, as seen on couple screenshots and videos).

I used iPhone Explorer to view and edit the files for Driver and I made a few interesting discoveries.

1. Even though the brown Cadillac (Car type 7), the Superfast Ferrari and Thunder Bird (Car type 16 & 17) are not used in the iphone version, it is actually available in the game if you edit the mission files. The Ferrari becomes yellow in the iphone version but however, the bits that comes out of the car when you crash is still red if you look carefully. If you activate cruise control at 120mph for the Superfast Ferrari and Thunder Bird, you can still get a top speed of over 200mph like in the original driver game.

2. The mission files used are the exact same from the PC version, which means you can just
copy and paste your edited mission files into it and the game will load. If you are using the easy level, there will be a "_easy" after the mission (Eg missionXX_easy.dms)

3. The events files are identical to the PC version also. Change the model name of boat2 to 0 in the boat chase event and you will still get a flag on your boat (You can do this for the PC version also)

4. There is no newcastle level and the Jaguar (Car type 15) dosen't work.

Conclusion: The game is actually a port from the pc version so most of the stuff inside are identical to that of the pc version. The game is installed to "com.gameloft.Driver" in your i device if you want to explore or edit the files.
