APC Tank

Hey there,

I'm still quite new to this forum, but i'm a huge driver fan and a GTA Modder.

However i've seen that it's possible to make custom cars for Driver.
I dl Milkshape and the driver import/export filters.
I've imported and modified the apc tank (from GTA TBOGT, it's a lod model) with ZModeler 2 and i've deleted some parts of it to get a vertices amount of 246 and i did apply the textures. Now i've exported it as wavefront obj. and imported it with Milkshake 1.8.5 Beta applied textures and it looks like this:

Image

It's not very detailed, but once that 256 vertices limited is increased i will be able to make a better model

BTW the texture have a size of 512x512 px.

When i export it, i get the following error: Failed to open! :x
I hope this can be fixed or am i doing something wrong, please help me :(

I've seen that the original driver cars don't have wheels in milkshape, anyway how is it possible that the car have those ingame then?

I guess i must change the car handling, wheel size etc, is it possible at all?

First off, the texture size has to be 256 X 256. Secondly, the wheels, handling, height, etc. are handled within the EXE itself. So you might have to use another player car as a base and just adjust it from there. That's what everyone else does.

Someone972 will most likely be fixing all of these issues, and is hoping to get the wheels, handling, and all of the other stuff, like damage, into separate files so we have better support for more cars. In due time, my friend...in due time. We just got to work with what we got for now. 2 years ago, this wasn't even possible.

To scale down the texture is the easiest thing, but i was wondering if the exe handle where the wheels are located, then it's hard to make an tank, but i can try it.

I really hope Someone972 is going to fix that, as we have waited so long to mod Driver finally.
However he did very awesome work and i'm happy that the Driver modding community get bigger ;)
Also i would love if someone hack Driv3r/Driver PL and make them moddable too :)

Also, make sure you're using Pre-Beta 3 tools, not Pre-Beta or Pre-Beta 2
