This was just an experimental...experiment...to see what would happen if I replaced a civ car with the Ford Ranchero...
This is what happened:

I apologize for the window, it's my fault. But...IT WORKS!
Here is what I have learned:
Palettes are not controlled by the model itself, they are controlled by what kind of model it is. Is it an event model? Civ car? Player car? etc. I'm really curious about this, and may go a little bit further with it...like, having a player car texture for the front, and civ car textures for the rest. HOWEVER, the game WILL CRASH if you try to use a civ car texture directly (having the actual civ car pictures) on a player car...it crashes the game!
