There is a file on the PS2(And presumably XBOX) disk called DRIVER4.IMG,it uses the same format as GTA model archives. If you think this should be in the modding forum, please move it.

Huh, Interesting. But I beat that you can't open it because there isn't a DRIVER4.DIR file. Right?

Yep,I tried with PowerISO which can open IMG files and no such luck.

*facepalm*. It's a file format, for GTA game it stores textures,in this it has all the game data inside it.

I don't really think that just because the file extension is .img, doesn't mean that it's the same file format for GTA's .img model files.
Here, there's a full list of .img files format that exist. And if you see, not only GTA is there, but many others.

as i said maybe it that "texture"

No, it's not. All the texture files are compressed in a certain file. I don't know where they is, but I'm sure that they are compressed somewhere. So, this Driver4.img, must be something else.

Yes,but there are other files on the disk so that will make the game larger in GB.

It's not an .IMG file supported by PowerISO or any commercial software.

The file is about 3gig, it contains a lot more than tanners image.
I suspect the file is reflections format for textures.
IMG. extension probably comes from a professional naming convention for game art assets and that's why GTA and a couple of other games use it.
Actually I think a lot of PS2 games use this extension.
I cannot be 100% certain but I think I've extracted this file before?
It contains everything, textures, scripts, sounds, fmvs.
If I can remember correctly.

Driv3r for the PS2 has an image called "DRIVER3.IMG" on it as well. The Driv3r one is 3.82GB.

They are archives with all of the gamedata inside.Opening them is impossible. I tried using Watto Studio's Game Extractor, but the f***ing thing fails at life. It says that the IMG file is not a archive yet it is.
