Has anyone got this? It's a more in-depth version of the making of the game?

I don't own it, but from what I know it just has some annoying guy explaining mission walkthroughs, gameplay tips, vehicle test drives, and city and map sections along with storyboards and little things like that.
It may have a more in-depth version of the making of the game but I doubt it.
Most of it's content can be found on Gametrailers and Youtube

I have it, the video on the dvd can easily be found on the internet, well I couldn't find all of it but I'll be uploading it to Driver Madness soon.
The guide does contain lots of interviews with the developer and thing like that. It also includes more "Making of the Game" content within those interviews.

So, the bonus video isn't the same quality as the written interviews? And the making of the game content is already on youtube, the one on the PS2 disc as well. That isn't much really. I was thinking a more detailed look at the game. Programming? 3D modelling?

Well in the guide it contains lots of different information about modeling but it doesn't go into great detail like it doesn't tell you what programs they used however in the development chat which was held quite a while ago they where saying they used Photoshop and 3DsMax. But I'm sure they use many other different programs those are just for modeling the cities and things like that.

I even searched up the Miami artists/ modellers to see if i could contact them...none.

Um, to ask how they made the palm trees, etc any other details.

I was just looking around and apparently there is an entire dvd not just the dvd on the magazine.
Which I can wait to see and find out if I can buy it.
It's hard to find this older products but hopefully I can find it!

Which dvd would that be now? As for the software used, they would of used Max for all 3D models.

I have it too.
The D3R Official Guide contents:
• Running the Gauntlet - The Movie
• Running the Gauntlet - The Making Of
• Driv3r - The Making Of the Game
• Trailers - Zero PM
Boys from the City
Destiny
C'mon and try
[2 or 3 other Trailers, I forgott their name, it's something with "man" and "dealer" …]
• Slideshow
I bought the DPL Official Guide an I was really disapointed. There is no City Guide and the informatons about cars and guns are not good. It's like sh*t this guide and it's too short.
If you want to have the bonus DVD with making and all those other things, you need the Limited Edition. It's not the collectors edition, its not the same, the limited edition is a alpha or beta version.
However we're here to talk about the
Driv3r Official Guide

and the trailers will be uploaded soon!

as well as the rest of the content on the dvd.

Here you have everything you need I think
http://driver-dimension.com/cate-1-Driv3r.html
including the Driver Police (Babylon 5 and Babylon 5 Hollow) that you should also add to the download base

So your saying that the bonus isn't dvd with the more in-depth making of the game? Or there isn't one at all...

Apparently you can purchase and I-Guide DVD which is just a dvd nothing else. But I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet!
I'm hoping that i'll find one somewhere but chances are unlikely.

But if you've got the D3R Official Guide you've got automatically the bonus DVD so why do you need one more ?… :S
Posted: Sat Aug 25, 2007 10:23 am
by myblueocean
No, apparently some guides do not have one. Sold seperately.

Okay. But this i really stupid cause in the guide they speak about that DVD and at the front theres like a half-DVD drowed (where the DVD is sticked when you buy it)

What does the book mention about the programming? Like the animation of the people in game, or the water?
Posted: Sat Aug 25, 2007 7:52 pm
by Coyote
No I dont mean the programming, but the DVD. On the Cover of the Guide there's written "With a Bonus DVD - Running the Gaunltet"
So if there's no bonus DVD the people dont understand why this is written…
