Will this graphics card run Driv3r?

Hey there!

I don't post much here but I thought I'd ask this anyway...

Will this graphics card be alright to run Driv3r on the PC and maybe DPL when it comes out on the PC (I mean, guess if you think it would run!). And, I know it's not really Driver related, but, would it run GTA:SA too?
I'm just wondering!

It's this graphics card:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/104734
One thing I will have to check is if it will be compatible with my computer. Once I've done that, I can start saving up (it shouldn't take long!) for it! :P
Also, is this one cheap? Seems so to me, and it seems decent according to the reviews (average score is 4.5/5, and yes I have read the actual reviews too!)

So, I'm just wondering what you think of it, mainly for Driv3r, that's why it's in this part of the forum!

Move this if needed!

Thanks, Zoton2 8)

"Asus Geforce 6200 128MB DVI-D 1 X Vga Tv-out AGP" is a very good video card. And the price looks a little too cheap, unless that currency is way out of the normal Australian currency.

Anyways I remember that your computer sount pretty good spec wise so if your motherboard supports AGP it should work.

Well it has a free AGP slot (I think!) but does it need a specific type of AGP slot? Or are they all the same?

Also, that site (ebuyer) are known for cheap prices (!), I've ordered a hard drive, a printer and various cables and more from that site, and they've been very reliable! So I have no problem with the online shop! :P#

EDIT: If you want to see the specs of my PC, go to this webpage:
http://www.studentcomputers.co.uk/pb-bo ... a-1402.htm

I have upgraded the RAM though! And changed to a new sound card, and as I have a TV Tuner, all of my PCI slots are filled up, but the last time i looked, a AGP slot was free, and that page says so too, but does it have to be a specific type of AGP slot? Or are they all the same? Thanks!

There are 2x 4x and 8x AGP Slots however if you purchased your computer within the last 4 years I'd beleave it at least has a 8x slot. And since it's a 2.8Ghz it's sure to have 8x because I've never known a computer with such a high spec to not have a AGP 8x card. And also to note all new AGP video cards on the market today are slowly disapearing leaving only 8x times on the market so nows the best time to purchase one since PCIe is now talking over.

I've also have worked out why your Graphics Card won't play many games, it's a "64MB Shared SiS 651GX" being Intergrated Graphics and Intergrated Graphics isn't really all that good so now you've decided to take the upgrade you computer should be able to play all games released upto today. :D. And probley even games released next year under lower frame rates or lower texture qualitys so upgrading isn't a bad idea to make you computer just about top of the range.

Since the NVIDIA is in the GeForce 6 Series, DRIV3R will be 100% optimized for this video card so you'll also get the best performance out of your game as long as background applications arn't eating everything up.

So I do suggest you upgrade and I'm 100% sure that that AGP slot is 8x AGP, so go ahead and buy the Video Card, Install it and have fun playing just about everysingle game on the market these days :D

It's Amazing what a single video card could do :D

NOTE: My video card is only a GeForce FX5200 and driver 3 never reccomended using video cards in the FX series however me having only 256MB Ram and a 2Ghz Celoron CPU and that FX5200, DRIV3R worked perfectly, may have been a standard frame rate of 20fps but it was still good enough even though all the graphic options on low.

Anyways now I have 1gig ram and 2.66Ghz still with that same video card and it still works about the same so soon i'm going to totally upgrade my computer so I can mod DRIV3R in easy and play it with full quality :D

I beleave with that video card you could player DRIV3R just about with everything on full. So that'll be fun.

Good Luck

Ok, thanks for all of that! I bought my computer just over 2 years ago now (in September 2004) so I think I should be alright!

yeh, it should work fine.
anyways I haven't seen AGPx4 Video Slots for ages, I think the last time I seen one was way back in 2001.

Anyways don't forget to tell us when you recieve and when you have installed your new video card.

and of course get DRIV3R for PC then you can help us mod DRIV3R if you have some time to spare. :D

That video card should work fine. You just need DirectX 9.
