The game will crash randomly while playing in Miami with 18 wheeler anarchy activated, music will stop or get screwed up(chase tune playing while no cops are after you),and SFX don't work or are assigned incorrectly(bumping into car sound even thought you crash head on into a car going fast, which is supposed to make the big impact crash sound).and cop dispatcher sounds are cut off or play really fast.

Is the disc scratched? (if you have one), does it work fine on PS2?

Which version is your PS3? 20GB? 40GB? 60GB? 80GB? And the region? North America, Europe...?

The PS3 seems to have tones of PS2 Backwards Compatibility problems.
I remember seeing a video where TK would randomly bend over every could of seconds or something weird like that.

The Playstation site tells that the 60GB only has problem with the Making of Driv3r video. While a similiar problem that you mentioned happens with the 80GB version.
