Driver: Origins

It's the early 1970s, years before that the events in Driver 1 take place. You're a driver for a large gang that's struggling to establish their desired portion of the young cocaine trade in Miami, Florida. Your job is to carry out various deliveries, retrievals, chases, and getaways while avoiding the suspicion of the Miami PD and rival gangs. The only problem is, there's an equal and opposite young driver, known as Tanner, working with the MPD that you need to continually fight to escape and avoid.

Wouldn't Tanner have been a race car driver then?
I seem to remember the police recruited him from that.

There was an undetermined amount of time between that and when he lost his badge (at the beginning of Driver 1). He probably would have been a regular officer (possibly with special driving skills though). The only hole in the plot here is that Tanner supposedly worked for the NYPD rather than the MPD.
