in my opinion driver 2 had the best graphics. driver had some issues but it was fixed in driver 2 and the graphics were great. i can say normal for driver 3's graphics and not bad for parallel lines' graphics :)

You can't compare. Driver 2 graphics were good at the time, and the DPL graphic would be crazy at the time.
Today the DPL graphic is ok, but the Driver 2 graphic isn't good at all.

Well, the answer is definitely not Driver 2. The game has pop-up, draw distance and other graphical issues. It was only produced and developed in 14 months. For a game like that, it's too fast so the end product was rushed.

Driver Parallel Lines looks good but the environment is a little bland so one could easily make an argument and say that True Crime: New York City has an edge because of the interactivity.

It would probally be down between Driver and Driv3r. Based on their competitors at the time, Driver would get the win because it was really the first open 3D world game and it had the Film Director. Driv3r looks better than GTA but games like The Getaway and True Crime: Streets of LA aren't exactly ugly, so the competition is stiffer. So yeah, the original Driver wins.

No way, the Playstation was first released in 1994 in Japan and 1995 everywhere else. Driver came out in 1999, do the math. Destruction Derby was Reflections Interactive first Playstation game and it did very well. It was released in 1995. Driver was a huge hit, it sold over 6 million units on the Playstation.

Driver is actually in the top 60 in total worldwide sales. And for those who care, Driver also ranks in the top 10 for Playstation worldwide game sales.

I voted Driver.
When I played the first time the graphics were AWESOME.

Well... I think that the driver with worst graphics was Driver 2... They aren't so bad, but I didn't like them very much... any way the game was excellent. Correction: IS excellent.

I don't know enough about games to rank these titles based upon comparisons to other games released at the same time for their respective platforms. I get the impression that Driver games aren't usually on the leading edge in the area of graphics. I guess I won't vote, but I liked what I was seeing when I first installed DRIV3R, except for maybe the effects that come from guns when they fire. The explosions look kind of lame compared to a lot of stuff I see in the WWII games I play. I like the way the cars come apart, though. That would be cool if it looked like the stuff people were talking about in another thread, about vehicle disintegration damage models.

I guess ppl who play Driver games released after DRIV3R get to see much better graphics, including car explosions.

Moonchild, you're like some kind of walking encyclopedia at times. LOL! That's pretty cool.

Yeh lol !

I think this is cool that Driver 1 is still selling very well and that the people like it !

It's true that Driver 1 had good graphics at the time.
Let's take for example the Default Car in Miami. At the back, the metal part where are the lights really shines ! Sun, Sky and Clouds are made very well too.

People are still buying Driver?

You can't really say which game has better graphics, they are all different. D, D2 are playstation era. And D3 was the PS2 era. The game market was completely different by the time of release for D3.

Driver won best game of 1999 award by one of the main official game award sites I cannot really remember the name.

Driver was also one of those really popular titles.

For graphics I think the driver series has tried to beat the graphics on all other games.

If it were for best graphics I would choose Driver one for the PS generation of games. I didn't choose Driver: 2 because there was a annoying draw distance problem.

For the next generation, the ps2 generation. It's a lot harder to decided mainly because the games used two different forms of graphics.

Driver 3 used crappy texture but used special colors which made the game look amazing, and there were some areas with very low polygon counts. But the graphics still looked awesome and it sure looked like it was a technical achievement.

Driver: Parallel Lines on the other hand used way better textures but used a color scheme, a contrast which made the graphics look crappy. Maybe it's the cartoon look. But when we think about it the graphics and the poly counts where a lot better.

Then we move onto the pc version of dpl the game looks way better with very high textures and pixel shader model 2. Which makes the game look even more amazing.

This is a hard poll so I have decided not to vote in it.
But you can kind of distinguish my vote by reading this post!

I think DPL PC has the best graphics.

And yes, Driver 1 is still in sale, now it's 12+.
