Discussion for Driver 2: Back on the Streets [EU] / Driver 2: The Wheelman is Back [US] (2000)

If you remember near the end of Driver 2 when Tanner and Jericho shoot down Pink Lenny's helicopter, Jericho says "It's going down, let's move" but instead Tanner points the gun at Jericho and says "put the sawn-offs down" and "to tell Caine that he needs Lenny more than he does." Jericho is stunned at the betrayal and threatens Tanner-"I'll find you"

Now my question is, do think that these events have any effect on Tanner's actions towards Jericho at the end of Driv3r?
Maybe Tanner remembers the past or does he have some respect for Jericho? I found it very surprising that Tanner didnt apply the "Baccus treatment" to Jericho at the end...

Well I havent played driver 2 in like 6 years and it kinda splipped my mind, But jericho kills caine, So idk, But Tanner probally does have some sort of respect for Jericho or else he would've wasted him at tha end of driv3r. Now we still dont know who died at tha end of driv3r, and considering PL had TK, it kinda makes me thnk that tanner is dead or they wouldve continued with him, But can tanner be dead? probally not- didnt UBIsoft say that they would bring tanner back? BUT, if jericho is dead, how would tha game continue, because Jericho is what lead tha story line, if jericho is dead than how are UBISoft going to continue tha series?...

It isn't neccaserily true that either are dead. and with jericho out of the picture it is still possible to continue driver, you'll just need a new villian. he wasn't really central to the stroyline of 2 so what makes you say he was the one that leads the story

Jericho was a fairly important character in Driver 2 because his and Tanner's actions set up his position(as main villian) in Driv3r.
It isn't neccaserily true that either are dead
I think both are alive and for the next-gen sequel, they should both be back along with Vazquez from part 2. Maybe Vazquez would be pissed at both Jericho for what he did to S. Caine and Tanner for messing up his operation.

Then again, the next game in the series could have Tanner battling against new gangsters or it could have completely new characters like DPL...
Hopefully Ubisoft will make an announcement at this year's E3...

I don't remember vazquez that well but the name does ring a bell. Like you say that they should bring him back. but whats to say that calita cant come back. it was never clear what eventually happened after she gave jericho up. What happened to caine isn't necceaserily clear either it was never specifically proven that he @#54^$#$#%$. No one ever said it.

And if some of that is confusing i'm trying to stear around giving things away as spoilers which i've noticed no one else is bothering about.

This is a spoilers forum made for talking freely about things that would spoil the game. When you go to the link from the new posts section however, this isnt obvious. Is it possible to make it obvious that a thread is in a spoilers section, perhaps with a different coloured link or a warning?

Who's Castaldi? I assume your talking about Calita?
but whats to say that calita cant come back. it was never clear what eventually happened after she gave jericho up
(since this is under Driver 2 spoilers) Calita was caught by Tanner and then interogated by the police, so woudn't she be in jail for all the crazy sh*t she's done. The only way she could come back is if she cut a deal with the police or she escaped...

Maybe Tanner will run into T.K. in the next game.... one things for certain though, Jericho needs to be back and their needs to be a tense scene between him and Tanner just like in Driver 2.

Since TK is on the run from the cops, and Tanner is a cop, it would be awesome to have TK as the bad guy in the next game. In fact, why not have two (parallel ) story lines where you can play as Tanner trying to catch TK, or TK trying to get away from Tanner.

That's not a bad idea, but the only problem would be the fact that their against each other....so one of them has to lose. So in a way Reflections would be disrespecting one of the series 2 "heroes"
I woudn't mind seeing T.K. in a cameo role though, maybe he and Tanner get into a street race and it turns out to be a draw or one of them wins buy a hair.

Then again, maybe someone's going to try to assassinate the President again...

You could have alternate endings, one where each wins. You could just make one of them win (I'm going for Tanner - He's the "good" guy, and hes been with the series longer, plus I just dont like tk). You could also leave it unresolved like D3, perhaps with a shootout out or carcrash where you cant tell if anyone has died or who has died.

That would actually be pretty cool! The question know is.....does T.K. have the balls to set up some sort of major crime organization. Even though he was a criminal in DPL he technically did good things at the end, so maybe know he's done with criminal activity or something.
If he's still a "Driver for hire" then he should be the main wheelman for the real villian(Jericho/Vasquez/whoever) then the story should end in the cliffhanger syle that you mentioned.

Seeming as this has turned into a discussion i am going to set up a thread in the general section where i will post an idea of mine and lseven7's. Comment's will be made, things will be added. blah blah blah and feel free to post your own idea of an entirely new driver game.

Both Tanner and Jericho lived to make it to Driver: Vegas, a cell phone game. Ubisoft should buy back Tanner's rights.

Ubisoft bought the Driver series (including the characters), so how Ubi will do it ?

Do you mean how will they bring him back?

EASY, all they have to do is say he came back after he flatlined.

I agree with you. I think Tanner has mild respect for Jericho. The only other reason he wouldn't shoot Jericho would be if he knew Jericho would soon die anyway.
