Unreal Engine 3

I guess that it would be cool if the next Driver uses the Unreal Engine (specially the third version). It's a really famous and popular game engine. A lot of big companies ike EA, Ubisoft and THQ uses it. It's even used for Educational and CG movies.

Some of the games that uses Unreal Engine 3:

The Wheelman (PS3, X360, PC), Midway

Medal of Honor: Airbone (PS3, X360, PC), Electronic Arts

Gears of War 2 (X360), Epic Games

Now, imagine Driver with an engine like this?

These engines don't give reflections the control they want over the game.
Although it is a big time saver as they wouldn't need to develop their own engine.

The good positive thing is that the game would easily be mod-able if it were designed with this engine. 8)

and I read that it would cost reflections $8000 for the software to develop games with this engine (per developer).

Wow! I thought that for the fact that Ubi have a license for this engine, they wouldn't spend to much on it :(

It's not a bad idea!
It would save them so much money on development costs.
But it'll be amazing what they can come up with. The Driver: Parallel Lines engine was pretty amazing the fact so many fairly high detailed cars could be handeled on teh screen at once.

First I'd like to see what Reflections can do, if they spend a lot of time on it they can build onto it in future games rather than start again like they had to do with Driver: Parallel Lines. Since no one liked the driv3r engine.

Maybe the physics engine which was really good (and pulled from stuntman which made good use of the engine.

I didn't find DRIV3R's engine that bad. It was really realistic. Even more than DPL. Of course that it had it's problems due to some bugs and etc, but it was fun.

The DPL's engine was certainly a huge inprovement over D3's one. It had better physics sometimes. It had a better draw distance, with more objects on screen.

I just want to know what Reflections will do with the next Driver. I'm just thinking in how realistic the game will be.
